When I was 13 I was diagnosed with Hepatitis B. I was sick for a while with it and we had to drive 140 miles (round trip) twice a week for treatment for several weeks. I had to take medicine three times a day in addition to the treatments. I got better, but the disease is still in my blood stream. It poses no problem. I've been with my husband 33 years and have a 30 year old son. The only drawback is that I can't give blood or be an organ donor. There is no cure. Law enforcement officers, doctors and nurses,EMT's, etc. have to take Hepatitis B vaccines. When I went into law enforcement I was told I had to take the vaccine, but was afraid to since I had had the disease. The Dr, told me I didn't have to take it because I had already had the disease and was immune. I already had the antibodies in my system to fight it. That may be disputed but that's what the Dr. told me and I never took the vaccine. There may be a cure one day, but not as yet. I knew Hepatitis B would prevent you from being a blood or organ donor, but I didn't know it would prevent you from working abroad. Interesting.

I am sorry to say that there is no cure way for Hepatitis B now. I hope one day this disease may be solved. In fact many people carries the Hepatitis B virus, but they are still normal people. They don't have any bad symptoms for their health. And they will not transfer this problem to others, too. In fact it is just like a scar in your skin. It is there but it is not harmful. People just don't understand it and have the prejudice to the people who have the Hepatitis B problem.

As far as I know there's no cure for hepa B. That's why as early as our infancy we are given shots for this to prevent us from contracting this disease.
