I don't understand the basis of mylot sometimes.......

Yesterday, I spent a little more time than the previous days to participate here in mylot because our scheduled meeting was postponed, and I did not have any other activities except for my daily work routine.
For the extra time I had yesterday with staying here, I have posted 3 discussions, made 18 comments and responses... but I only earned.... $0.01! It's sad to see that my effort yesterday was worth that less... 
But there were also days were I can spend a little time and even have only made some fewer comments, but I earn like $0.12 to $0.25
sigh... just thinking aloud...

I had the same confusion. It is that you get paid after 24 hours of work and the earning updates happen at different timing in different countries because of time difference. So for me I get my earning updated the second day for today's work. Like what I do today, I will get today's earning tomorrow. That 1 cent you got yesterday was for the previous day's work. You will get more today. Don't worry!
My advise to you is just keep writing and the earnings will follow. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day ahead.

The first thing that we should do when we log into myLot is look at the clock at the bottom of the page and then realise that THAT is the time and day that we are posting. Often it is different from the time where we are but as everything goes by THAT clock, it is so much easier once we are aware of the time in myLot land

You may need to be aware of the time difference. MyLot calculate earnings from midnight to midnight according to THEIR clock, not yours. See "myLot time" shown at the bottom of the page. What you posted in one day in your country may well be spread over two days as far as MyLot is concerned.
The other thing to be aware of is that, when discussions are deleted, the earnings are adjusted so that you may have lost earnings on some days which will reduce your amount for that day. To avoid this, make sure that all the discussions you respond to are clearly within the Guidelines. The ones to be aware of particularly are ones which might be considered "poll type" questions.

It seems to be happening to a number of people today. There have been several duplicate posts recently. Admin removes them eventually but it's annoying because people often reply to the second one (which is usually the one which is removed) and the first one gets no responses.

Earnings are based on myLot's time zone which is not always the same as ours.
Look atthe clock at the bottom of the page and you can see what time it is there now.
Earnings are based on a day, 24 hours in that time zione and when earnings update, during their morning, they are for our participation during the previous 24 hours.
Go to your earnings page and at the bottom you will see that it states right now:
"participation and referral earnings last updated 16 hours ago".
This means that they will next update in aprroximately 8 hours from now and when they do, the earnings will be for everything that we did between 00.01 and 00.00 on Monday 8th October myLot time.
Everything that we do on October 9th myLot time will appear in the update tomorrow.

i am in Italy and when it is midnight inmyLot land it is 7 a.m. here.
Check what time it is where you are when it is midnight for myLot and gradually everything will fit in.
We change time zones when we are here even though we don't need a passpaort and we don't take a plane 
Have fun!

Let me tell you a secret. To earn more, try to make the content larger, make it interesting enough for other to read and rate your response. Quality and quantity both are going to make you earn more here. So you know, stretch a little bit. 
Or you can give short responses but real large in numbers, like a thread that is updating very frequently, like chatting. You wouldn't even notice the time spent and would feel like you are trying to work hard on your response. Usually I've had more earnings when I started some good discussions and the responses where flowing in. Don't be disappointed, just make it interesting and you will soon start earning more and having fun at the same time.

hi dana and voldrox glad to see you back. I kibitz a lot and first someone scolded me told me I was butting in but I looked through all the mylot information and did not see that condemned anywhere so started having fun and getting to know other mylotters too getting paid for enjoying yourself is really neat,. wow.

It looks like you've gotten this figured out now.
I'll just say that when I really put time into my replies it shows a great deal. I mean I don't usually rush anything here but sometimes if I think more about what I'm going to say rather than just typing away, I seem to do better in earnings that next day. That is another take on "quality over quantity" again but it can't be said enough with the results that it will bring.

Yes I like these topics that more people can learn from if they will read them. Some things still aren't covered (I think) in the guidelines like this one. I never had an issue though because I am in similar time zone as myLot.
I also try to hunt out topics I know I can put something of interest for those who read it. I hope this will bring in more replies for the discussion because we're meant to discuss here not just show our own opinion, whatever it may be.

yup! I already figured it out... Sometimes letting your doubts out in the open may help so others can explain and make you understand. That is what I received by posting this. It enlightened me a lot. And I was also happy because some mylotters also got some lessons learned by reading my discussion.
I also agree with you. I do not post some replies for the sake of responding. I also choose some topics which I can relate or which I believe I can make comments or sometimes to ask questions if they are of my interests. Thanks!

remember to refer to mylot's time and date also when it's the end of the month, which is the cut-off for earnings. just keep on mylotting until the clock below reaches 23:59 pm of oct 31st. don't rely on the time and date where we are located, which is ahead of us time.
also check your email for notifications of deleted responses and comments to discussions you started or joined.
finally, use the mylot search function to earn rewards. make it your homepage.

I was where you were and really felt bad too, but then I began to understand things here, especially that which was already mentioned in discussions above my post. Anyway, it seems that this matter is now resolved, so I'll just wish you happy mylotting!

hi aejey did you read the guidelines? read them again we are paid not for the quantity of work we do but for the quality of
our work. if you are hurrying to do ton s of stuff you probably
did not do quality work so slow down take time to write quality
posts and you will get good earnings.in entering any new site it really pays to read the guidelines and the FAQ; s too.you are paid for the quality of your work.do quality posts you will see your
earnings rise.did y ou comment back to the responses on the three discussions:as thats the only way you earn on your discussions., we did the typing of the responses so we get the pay but you can comment back to us and you get paid quite nicely.I bet you did not comment back to anyone yet y uo are complining low payl

Hi Hatley. Yes I am aware of the guidelines. I guess I just missed to recognize that I have different time zone with mylot. But I already have received the answer... I already received the earnings I was expecting. It was credited the next day so I received it when I logged in just this morning. But thank you for reminding me.

The money part works out in the long run so do not bother about it too much. Concentrate on building up a friendship base and get to know your new friends. Be a good friend to your mylot friends by answering their posts and in return they will respond to yours. This does take a few months to accomplish. I am restricted with the amount of time I spend on mylot but the most that I earnt on one day was just over 80 cents. This was unusual as \i do not normally earn hbalf of that Remeber to write at least five lines in your response and you are paid for the quality of your posts

Actually I never have experience like yours. But it's possible to happen cos Mylot have a rule that they will pay afyer 24 hours. So I never expect my earning will increase soon after starting a discussion or giving reponse. But I will find my earning increasing on the next day and it always satisfies me. I mean, I will get much for some qualified responses or discusdion, an on the other hand I'll get only little for my short responses. So Mylot always pays me well. I hope you can get more than $0.01 after you write this discussion. good luck..:)

with the issue I raised, well I just missed to recognize the time difference of mylot and my place. I thought it's really 24 hours, so I was thinking that whatever I do on OCtober 8 here, will be credited as October 7 in mylot. But I was wrong... When I make some comments on the afternoon of October 8 here, it will be credited to October 8 in mylot. Because the time difference is about 13hours. So when I participate during afternoons, I won't be able to receive it the next day... but in the next 2 days.
So the one I'm complaining about, I received it when I logged in this morning. And it's the 2nd highest figure I received so far at $0.33.
Thanks to the old mylot members. This is really a big lesson learned

Wow, it's good that you could earn about .25 in just one day in mylot.. I haven't received that kind of amount so far despite of how many comments I made. I was even wondering which could I receive a bigger price, through commenting or through making discussions.. I'm confused with that, I'm doing both but I have received single cents. Anyhow, in your confusion, it was because of the clock that was featured in the bottom of this site. This is to ensure that the people participating here follows and they would give xcredits the same time.

Yes, it's due to time zone difference. I only have realized it now. We are 13 hours advance against mylot time. I thought it was 24... But now, I understand how it is... If I do some comments/posts in the afternoon, I will receive the credit in the next 2 days yet. Thanks!
