Hey friends, it was so disappointing to see how some of the street lights are not being turned off during the day time. It shows the depth of negligence and apathy towards the energy and electricity consumption. I saw as many as 15 street lights still burning and it made me anger and i got annoyed. Even our municipality office was closed and i think i have to talk to the media persons to highlight this negligence as a matter either on TV or in newspapers. I cannot think how people could be so unfazed about this and i think strict action should be taken against these people. What are your thoughts regarding this? Who is to be blamed for this? What do u think should be done next?

Where I live, they are starting to actually turn off some of the lights even at night because the council can't afford to keep the lights turned on. I think that this is something that is starting to cause more accidents at night because people can't see whether there are people trying to cross the road or not. Also if people are walking along the road they are more likely to be in an accident because they can't see what they are doing. I think that it is wrong that other places are leaving the streetlights on during the day, because we should all be making more of an effort to be saving energy when we can.

Hey thanks a ton for your response. Oh my goodness it is absolutely insane to turn off the street lights at the nigh time at least forget about the day hours. i feel bad for those poor innocent people who find them trapped in an accident without any fault of theirs just because the lights were not turned on. It is very bad on the part of the officials to do this, if they really think that they cannot afford then they can ask for extra money from the local people. What say?

Thats one of wasting energy, specially at the dry season. Cause most electrity resources use waterfall. Is good to turn it with autoswitch on and off.

Hey thanks a ton for your response. Yes u are absolutely right, keeping the street lights on during the day time simply means wastage of electricity. It is we people who are being so negligent about the energy and when it comes to electric power shortage we start blaming the Govt. people. I wish if these lights had an auto system that would switch on and off depending upon the daylight that would be very good. What say?

That's not a good practice, it also been the main cause of scarcity of our resources. We need to conserve energy, I think you need to call the electric companies to take an immediate action on this.

Hey thanks a ton for your response. yes u are absolutely right, this is not a good way of utilizing electricity. We all will repent one day when there would be no electricity around us and then we would realize that we were the ones responsible for this condition. Yes i think the electric company people should be left to handle this matter, they might probably teach the street light officials a lesson or two. What say?
