I think the main reason why many Filipino people who are still enslaved in too much poverty because the are too lazy, they do not even want to work hard to improve their financial stability, some of them waiting for the supplies from the government or begging to other people. All of us knew the corruptions are very common here in our country but there's nothing to do with it. We better to work hard on our own and stop blaming the political leaders. If we want to have a good life we need to start to use our skills and explore our mind on how to earn money without the help of others.

Laziness can also be indirectly attributed to lack of decent education. In my observations in some remote areas, most people tend to be lazy in working because they see themselves as hopeless people who do not have ability to uplift themselves.

BY observation, Bhebelen is right about the laziness of many of our countrymen. Well to be fair enough there are cases wherein a citizen of this country don't even dare to try a job because he or she lacks the skills necessary for the job. Again, this is also correlated with the gross corruption that's going on in every corners of our society.

I really do not see corruption as the primary source of poverty here in the Philippines. For my 19 years of existence here in the world, all I can say is that lack of proper education for most of us is the number ONE reason for our poverty. Take for example, illiterates cannot really look for a decent job because they cannot read, write and communicate and leads unemployment even for the fact that there a vast number of opportunities out there. With this lack of education, most of us tend to be naive and ignorant in many aspects of life and relentlessly put the blame on the government. And inline with that, we have the tendency to immediately believe the things that are told to us by our friends without even knowing the real situation.

While I do agree with everything you've said, still we need to consider that corruption in the very fiber of our governance hinders and defies proper educational programs for every Filipino. We lack lot's of facilities, teachers training and other educational related stuff because of fund insufficiency, but do we really lack the fund?

Education cannot be solely blamed on the government considering there are still various of ways and action that can be a remedy to such. One good example would be the cariton classroom of efren penaflorida, with little funds and limited resources, he still managed to spread the gift of education to our less fortunate bros and sisters.

hi,
for me the number one reason why poverty is too much in my country it because there are many corrupt in our government, the money of people will only go to the pocket of all corrupt people,so it will possibly affect the economy, education and employment.
