Spending hours on computer and online

Nowadays really everyone has their own computer and whether a slow or high speed internet connection. We know that the virtual, digital world cannot be avoided and is now a necessity to life, since we can easily connect to people, also process data and everything. We can even play games interactively which has never been possible before. My question is how long are you actually devoting your life on the use of internet than the real world. Like here in myLot how many hours do you dedicate over this site? Of course there are Facebook and Twitter and people also spend a lot of their time over that sites. If your addicted to computer use do you plan of having some sort of vacation away from it for a while and stop to glue your eyes on your computer screens for a while and enjoy nature instead.

I see a lot of people now use computer, maybe they don't have but they rent outside and its a kind of cheap to rent computer outside. You can do a lot of things in 1 hours sitting on your computer.

I'm online for banking and keeping in touch with friends. I also write and publish my articles online. I play a game online also quite a bit. I don't know how many hours a day I spend online because it is just a few minutes at a time usually. I used to spend many hours online but not anymore.

I used internet at work but when I have my weekend , I try to enjoy it and away from the computer . I may only spend 3 hours online on weekends . Some people neglect their real life and now are cyber people full time . Too much internet is not healthy for anyone , we should go out talk to real people and look at real world instead of pictures .

Yes, too much of internet is not healthy for our mind and body. I tends to get giddy and backache, if spending too much time in front of computer. Now, i am balancing it with going out with my family whenever they want to sight seeing.

Avery, i don't have fix time to online everyday. It is depending on how much offline matters that i have everyday. If i have lots of offline matters to do, then i won't be able to spend any time to online. I only come online when i am free from my offline matters. Whenever i am online, i spend most of my time into Mylot since i feel it is more interesting than the other sites. Indeed, we should enjoy the beauty of natural scenery when we are free.

Good, good its better to have more time outside than with the computer but if there is nothing good to do around, computers can keep us busy and behave for a long period of time.

I spend as much as 8-12 hours a day online doing work. ^_^ I am a freelance writer and I post on myLot whenever I can.. Recently, almost everything I do online involves some sort of money making, so I try to maximize my time by being productive. For activities like tweeting and checking Facebook, I just use my phone when I'm in bed. :) I do spend time away from the computer too though. :D I live near the river and I enjoy waiting for the sunrise there... How about you? How long do you spend online?

Wow, living nearby the river seems interesting. you can watch the sunrise and sunset as much as you like. Not like life in the city, it is hard to enjoy the nature beauty.

That's nice. Others are busy making money online while others just want to kill time or have something to keep them busy and yes you can also use your phone to get away from the computer and breathe some fresh air.

Sadly, I spend all day and sometimes all night on my computer. 50% of that time I spend playing games and watching YouTube. 25% I spend actually doing productive work like schooling, learning new skills like C++ programming. The other 25% I spend trying to bring some extra income. There are so many things on the internet these days that can get you side tracked and waste your time away. The internet can be the cause of your success or your downfall.

That is true, there are times that I spend a lot of time too, that I don't get to move a lot as just my fingers and eyes are moving when I am using the computer. I think, we all have different busyness in life that occupies our time.

Well, i think you and other people should change that since there are many things you can do outside the computer or internet world. It's not really healthy with the kind of life you are living right now.

Yeah, I know. I'm trying to break the habit, but with the weather getting colder, it just gives me another excuse to stay inside and waste my time on the computer.

if I have much time, may be I would spend my whole day for computer and internet, but... due to a lot of offline activities, I only have about 4 hours spending online. I have about 2 hours for mylot, but not everyday, because I also have online collage and sometimes waste days to finish task on my online collage

I don't know how many hours I spent in the computer but I think it's long. Maybe almost the entire day. There is a computer on my office table but I don't use it for the whole duration of the 8 hours but there is no internet connection. I only use it for encoding. At home, in the morning I open mylot and make a few responses in mylot and in the evening when arrive home, I do mylot too. I guess I only do a little housework most of my time at home is spent online.

I will spend my free time online. I am addict to internet stuff. Just only knew myLot few days ago through my friend. I want to try this site if I will enjoy participating some of the discussion that catches my interest. I want to improve my English speaking skills so that I can use it in my daily undertakings on the net.

I use my free time too to get in the internet. But usually, i would use my boring time where i am really bored and there's nothing to do for fun and get online. Even though there's nothing to do on the computer, i would just stay online and basically do nothing until the time passes.

My work is on internet. I am a medical transcriptionist. So most of my life is spent on internet. I rarely go outside the house. Because I work in night shifts, I have to sleep in the day. I think there nothing more left in outside life, I think internet is best thing to get rid of loneliness.

I do spend a fair amount of time on the internet, but I try to keep it within reason and do not allow to encroach into my real life. Mylot is probably the only online site that I have spent a lot of time on, and I have no interest in either Twitter or Facebook. The internet has proved to be very useful over the years. Apart from the basic surfing I use the internet for grocery shopping, holiday searches, online banking and even have a Virtual Private Network by which I can access the works intranet and catch up on a few duties. If anything, I would say that my online time reduces my television time rather than my other offline life. Considering the quality of most television programs nowadays, that is not really a loss.

Great what share. I don't have Facebook like other people who use half of their life on that site. Computers also are a lot smarter than our TVs.

There is no doubt that a minute online can turn to hours. I really do have a life. The computer allows for certain conveniences. I have accounts with twitter, facebook, and mylot, but I also have human interactions. I do not even have all day to spend online. It is a convenience to have the internet, and I cannot see life without right now. I do not have an addiction or anything extreme like that. It is just that sometimes the computer is what one must use. For instance, if the only way to apply for a job is online, you can. There are some ways that a computer gives you more options. But, I will never stop enjoying nature.

Well, I don't work outside the house because we decided when my son was born six years ago that I was going to stay at home with the children until he started school. So, all of the income that I bring into our household is through money that I am able to earn online. Because of this, I would say that I do spend more time on the computer than many people do. However, I do break myself away from the computer a lot on weekends so that our entire family is able to go out and do something.

I still prefer face to face communications. Some people may say I am an old-fashioned person but in fact I care about my health a lot. I don't see any reason to ruin my vision sitting in front of the computer screen so I do it only for about an hour in the evenin before I go to bed.

This is very true. I myself have seen how internet effect the people mostly teenagers or students nowadays. There is this one time there's an internet problem in my campus hostel, and all the students are like the people in the stone age. They all came out from their rooms and make noise because they can't get connected to the internet. For me, as long as there is something that i can do outside like hanging out, there's no need for internet. But some of my friends would be connected to the internet 24 hours a day with their iphone or blackberry.

I study for my entrance exam tests on the computer as I have the material stored in it. Yes, I use the internet for banking, booking travel stuff, looking for new places/events for the weekend..mails, social network and mylot. Can't really complain that I devote more time here because partner uses his own computer from morning to night. Hence, my laptop is my best friend now I guess..I play games and study..guess it is a serious relationship with the gadget than the person!
