Yesterday, I received the package I ordered online using my first mylot earning. Well I had mixed emotions when I got it and well I'm sharing it to you fellows who are planning to shop online. PROS: -I am happy because I was able to buy stuffs not available in my hometown. -I don't need to go to the mall and fall in line in the counter. -I get to use my online money to pay for it. CONS: -I get to pay shipment fee. -I wait for a long time for it to come. -Worst part sometimes the sizes aren't standardized. (I ordered for XL for my dad but their XL seems like S Oh well.)

Wow! Congrats to you for your first earning! I hope I receive mine too! Anyway, For me, it is still better to see firsthand the item that I'm going to buy so that there will be no regrets in the end! :D

Well that is right it is nice to see the item eye to eye. I just don't like going to the busy mall. That's the price for me for being a lazy bone.

Hi Smurfy! Well sometimes I also like a good walk at the mall. Specially when it's with friends. But well a lot of times I am lazy. I love malling but I hate "too attentive sales ladies" who sort of oblige you to buy.

We have our own perceptions and doings with things. In my case, I tend to enjoy malling a lot compared to just scrolling and scanning online with clothes or anything under the sun. Well, plus the fact that I could get to have myself airconditioned...while doing shopping or just plain window shopping. It's actually one of my forms of de-stressing myself especially after work or after a hard days work. Well, people are different actually. I do have my lazy days as well. Have a nice day!

Hello Flapiz, Those cons are what I hate with online shopping. I am not into online shopping until I started out earning online. I used my earnings through those things that can be bought online...And yeah, the bad thing that I really hate is to wait and to keep on contacting the seller on what happen to your package. I also tend to buy ebooks for me to read especially those ones that is not yet available here in our country. I am planning now on buying something for Christmas but I don't think I would be able to accumulate that big amount by just mylot...Maybe I should look some other sources. Have a great day!

Hi Smurfysmurf! I love ebooks too. Can you tell me which website you can buy them? The good ones. And also how much does most of them costs.

The last con happens even if you were to go to the mall or a specialty shop. A lot of places size variants are ridiculous. Especially if you got a high end store where you'd be paying more. It seems there sizes are all on the small size. Hopefully your dad will still be able to wear the piece of clothing you ordered. Maybe a few times of him wearing it will stretch it out but of course the dryer may tighten it right back up the first wash.

Well yes it happens even in mall. I guess I used the wrong words. Thanks for pointing it out. What I mean is you cannot try it on so well size errors are more prone. I don't think my dad could wear it. It was actually okay in the upper part but the belly part was really too tight. My dad has this really big ball of a belly. I guess I'll just have to buy him a new birthday gift and I'll give the polo shirt to my younger brother.

This is true, and then shipping it back can be a hassle. There is only one time I've ever had to ship back clothing, which I am glad for. Button up shirts are the hardest to tell via online as well. Too bad it's a polo, if it was a long sleeved shirt he could just wear it under another for when / if it ever gets cold. Oh well atleast you have your brother to give it to.

Next time I buy online I'll remember that "lons sleeve shirt tip" of yours. It's actually sensible and fashionable. Thanks.

My main pro for online shopping is that I can find really good deals for what I buy. I usually find things much cheaper online, sure I have to wait a little longer, but it's worth it to get it cheaper.

hi to you both! I really am curious from which shop you buy. From the shop I buy yes the items are cheap but the shipment fee is too much.

My package I ordered from online shop using my online earning just arrived 15 minutes ago and I only pay $0.30 for the shipment fee. I agree with you that shopping from online shop has pros and cons. I can get what I need cheaper than the offline stores, I dont have to waste my fuel to go to the store. I found so many cheaps item on ebay, the price is half what they sell here. My brother asked me to get him bicycle accessories so I will take a look on ebay for that. I dont mind with the waiting time until the package arrived infront my door, it is better than spending 2-3x price if we buy it here. The item usually arrived between 2weeks or 1 month. Sometimes longer depending on package traffic in my country, during holidays or before religious day package traffic is very crowded. I never bought clothes from online store, so i dont have experience when the sizes arent standardized. Perhaps you need to talk to the seller before you buy the item, ask her about the measurement.

0.30 dollars? That's pretty cheap. Is that also on ebay? I paid about 5 dollars for my shipment from another shopping store. The prices were cheap but the delivery was preposterous. Can you recommend to me some shopping sites?

Well, if you really search for it, sometimes you may get cheaper items than what offers at your local store. For example, my friends asked me to check for blackberry housing on ebay, and it only cost about $14-$17 (USD) for full housing (Means every part of the housing)free shipping included, and there is this one time i get a very quality (You can just feel it when it is in your hands) housing for the same price of $15. Here at my local store would cost me at least $20 for housing alone and plus my time and transport fees, that is the minimum lowest quality. Usually a normal quality blackberry housing locally would cost $25-$30 and higher quality cost $50 and sometimes even $80-$90. I can get that on ebay for one price of $15. You just need to know what you are buying and cross check the price with you local store. Well, i don't really think clothes are the best thing to shop online, but i have never encounter such problem yet with the clothes i bought online.

Well, if you know what you are buying online, then there's more pros than cons. Like for the size, you should search more about the size you are buying. Usually, the seller would state the exact size in their listing even though it is not 100% correct. For the shipping, it actually save you time and energy to search for the item and the gas you are paying to go to the store. If you really search for the item, you could actually get cheaper price for the item itself since in retail store they would increase the price to pay for their rental shop. The only real cons for online shopping for me is to wait for it to arrive, average 2 week for all items that i've bought online.

Yes they do have sizes in centimeters and they said it has 3 cm difference due to the difference in manufacture date. I measured and all but the item I got was still not the size I wanted. If I calculate shipping with my transportation fee when I go to the mall it actually costs more. Because when I go malling I just commute. My fare is only 16 pesos back and forth. When converted it's more or less half a dollar. The shipment fee would be 5-15 dollars depending on the weight of the items. But I do save time when I do online shopping. No more lining up in the cashier. No more pushing around with lots of other buyers and all that. But then there's the shipping which takes days and days. Anyway despite that, I was just so happy that I received the items I've ordered. Well it wasn't perfect but it was my first purchase. It arrived late so I was worried that I was scammed. Thank heavens I wasn't. I would definitely try online shopping again but I'd be wiser now.

Well, you can't always get everything that you want. Everything have it's own pros and cons. You should just have to take a minute and think for what is the best for you to use because humans wants what easier and better for them. Either online or not, you should consider and wiling to accept its cons.

I think there are more advantages to shop online. Such as there are more choices for you. The price is usually very nice. And you can decide your purchase according to other buyers' feedback. The disadvantage is you can't see the real product when you buy it. So sometimes it will have some problems about buying the clothes, shoes and so on. But I still enjoy shopping online and I often buy many kinds of products via the net.

Yes there are a lot of choices online. Thanks for adding that. Well despite those cons I've listed I'm still willing to give online shopping another shot. I am just so happy I received what I ordered. It arrived late and I was starting to think I was scammed. But thank heavens I wasn't.

It's hard to buy clothes on line because its best to try them on before you purchase it. If you already have something by the brand then its a lot easier. You can always return it and get the size you need, they do allow that since they know its not always what you want or think it was supposed to be that way.

Yup it is hard to buy clothes online. I learned it the hard way. Although they give measurements sometimes it still is not that exact. I suppose I could return it but it would be tedious and I don't think they refund for the shipment. Anyway next time I shop I would buy neutral things like books and accessories to prevent future disappointments.

While I do understand that there are cons to online shopping I have found that most of those cons are things that you are able to get around. For example, when it comes to the shipping costs, I try to wait until stores are doing a free shipping promotion and I will order at that time. In addition to that, when it comes to clothing I've found that most of the online retailers have a no hassle return policy for items that are not the right size. The only thing that I've not been able to find a way around is the time that it takes for shipping.

Well I see that the store I was talking about is having free shipping at the moment. But the minimum purchase should be 300 dollars. They have returns for size problem but they do not do shipping refund for that matter. Can you tell me some online shops which offers a lot of free shipping? I'd love to check it out.

I am disabled and shop online a lot. I hate to go to the store and it is much easier to have things shipped. There are only two cons as far as I am concerned, and that is the shipping fee, which sometimes can be more than the item, and sometimes free. The item usually comes pretty quickly. I ordered something on Sunday and it was here Wed. and Monday was a holiday here. I also don't like that you can't see the item. I like the reviews though, and sometimes you can tell from them how the item will look. If I get gifts online, I try and get them from someplace that the item can be returned to the store, if it is something for myself I try to keep it, if at all possible. Sizes can be different even if you go to the store, so I don't worry to much about that.

Well that's a quick one for you. The shipment method I chose was the cheapest so well I got my items after 30 days. So imagine how stressful the waiting was. A lot of things entered my mind like "was I scammed?"

I don't buy clothes online, but I do buy most other things, especially Christmas presents for my family, online. My favorite online shopping site is Amazon. If you are careful, and spend at least $25, you get free shipping. So, I watch what I buy and get great deals. Also, the shipping is rapid...I usually receive the shipment within a week.

that's unlucky for you, and it happens sometimes, its common in online shopping, i do online shopping for books, i use my online earned money to buy books so , i never faced any problem till date, yes i remember i bought some apparels through online shopping, the cost was good but the quality was not as expected(it was not bad) , so from then on i dropped the idea of shopping apparels online, so now only buy books and only books.

Hi Prashu! I guess books are one of the safest things to buy online. Can you tell me which site I can buy good books? I like ebooks these days and some of them are free but I still love my hard bounds for collection purposes.

wow, S? seems like you've got a reserved gift for 1 of your inaanaks then! haha I am also an online shopper but limited to items that doesn't need sizes especially online shops have this no return policy, so i don't take the risk. :D I am fine with the waiting period, just like you I'm glad to spend my online earnings. So most items I bought online are: phone loads, watches, phone casing, accessories, key chains, and again-just no requiring size items! hehe=)

Hi Meowchie! You're right maybe next time I'll buy neutral items. But I do love online clothes though. Maybe I could buy the baggy looking ones. :)
