Bottom line, you are voting for the person on the top of the ticket. Do you think the VP is important? Is this debate important? Do you think it will change the race? Will you be watching it? I don't really think it is too important but I will be watching it. I think it will be fun to watch, but I don't think it will have much impact on the campaign. What are your thoughts?

The VP is moderately important as there's always a chance he/she could become president. That said, it has little bearing on the presidential race and the debate borders on meaningless. I've seen a lot of VP debates that were won by the losing ticket.

Good point. I think Biden may have helped the Romney ticket tho. The concern now is the swing voters and most did not respond well to his arrogance.

I would say they are important. It is a way to see if the VPs are on the same page with their presidential candidate. I would imagine that it is a more interesting debate this time around. Romneys potential VP is from generation x and Romney is a baby boomer. That is quite interesting, don't you think? I believe every little thing can impact the race for president. Enjoy the show. He he he.

I agree, and Obama Biden is the same in reverse. The difference is, Romney and Ryan are thinking and action people. Obama Biden are more john lennon imagine type of guys.

I think i skip this debate, it is no doubt both will try to bolster their presidential running mate's view and add try to fight hard to add more onto their financial sponsors' benefit, which can means more confusion and disagreement to an already messy situation this nation had experienced while they are in office.

When you go to the polls, is the Vice President on the ticket a factor in your decision?

I will watch it just to see what comes out of Biden's mouth. He is known for saying some funny and stupid remarks.

It seems that people are looking forward to seeing Ryan trounce Biden. And afterall, as folks have said, these guys are a heartbeat from the Oval Office.

Call me silly, but I think that the VP also have to be on the same track as the President in their way of thinking. Look at present, the President and VP, they're both crocks and liars. The VP and President have to be on the same page.

The VP is the second highest rank in the political arena...once the President is not around the VP can assume...more so, the VP is also an important character in every government to work for he/she holds powers . If your a concern citizen looking for the welfare of your nation you must watch it...see their political platforms/pro Forma so that you will know who is the better person among them...

I think it will be very interesting this year as Paul Ryan is such a smart guy (and his words, and budget he drafted this year of course are twisted as saying things totally different than his intent). He is from my home state also! Well the one I've been living in since coming of age (gulp, almost 40 years ago!) Yes I am looking forward to watching, though I may have to watch them online, after the fact. Do I think they matter? It's so very partisan this election that I have to think so. Of course the media is preparing us by underestimating Paul Ryan, but I guess that's not unusual.

Biden interrupted so much during the debate that still people do not know how Ryan weighs in on the issues.

It won't change how I vote, but that's not to say it's not important. I think it would be nice if we got a say in who the VP is. I remember last election a lot of people chose not to vote for McCain because of how old he was and that they didn't like Palin. Seems a silly reason not to vote for someone.. but I could see how a really terrible VP could make someone think twice about their vote.

certainly. If I didn't dislike Obama and his policies so much, Biden would have clenched it for me. His attitude is such a red flag to the way our country's division is only getting worse.
