There's a new law covering the world wide web ...and many people would say that is abridging their freedom of expression...and the libel penalty is far off to much than on the Penal Code...what do you think about that?

I would have to know far more about the details within the law to judge it very critically, but on the surface I consider the law to be necessary.
We only have to consider what libel is, the which is the publishing or speaking untruthful and detrimental information about another. In other words accusing someone falsely of committing a crime or behaving immorally. This is obviously wrong and should be illegal, as it in fact is, whether quoted on the internet or on television etcetera.
before you consider this to be infringing freedom, imagine how you would feel if someone posted on the internet that you were a thief or a rapist, such accusations cannot be allowed.

I think that some parts of the law are too much.. But some of the are good too, s they should just think every line of that law through and keep those that the people would also agree to. Since it is the people who would follow the rules.

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Well i strongly feel that this law was the need of the hour looking at the way people are misusing this freedom. I think they have taken advantage of this freedom to that extent that they have made people's life miserable. I hope people would think twice if they ever think of misusing this freedom and play with the feelings online.
What say?
