I like the style of John McArthur. He is a brilliant author in a lot of subjects especially in the area of theology. Of course unknown writer of today like John Gill is one of my favorite because of his keen analysis on topics he handles. Writers, book authors differs in style but they all aim to convey a message they want people to embrace. One thing I want about my favorite authors is their dedication to the benefit of their readers.

My favorite is Haruki Murakami, He writes good novels and the way he describes a certain setting is heaven. He mixes in subtle hints of the characters and it's like you really picture out the story and the faces of the characters. He also writes stories involving mystery and suspense, I'd never want to stop reading. He's also japanese so there is a bit of culture mixed on it. Good reads actually.

Figurative Speaking actually. Feels like I am up to heaven when Murakami-san describes every detail of his story. It's like I am watching a 3d movie, feels like I am on that exact same scene. I love him so much. Also because, I am fascinated by Japanese culture so his take and style is really kind of different.

You mentioned about heaven. I'm just wondering how did you come out with the idea of it. Just curious about it because heaven is the very place I and my Christian brothers longs to see and live hereafter.

Oh, I see. Maybe your favorite author describes most things in a figurative manner. There are really excellent authors who writes in a picturesque way making the reader easily imagine things as if they're real. Your favorite is indeed a good author.

My favorite author curent is Dan Brawn. His criminal romans are really good. He has some interesting writing style, when you start reading you have no chance to stop. I read so far all his books and all are very good. The Da Vinci Code, Angels and Demons are the best. Also his new book Lost Symbol is very good.

Sergionho77, pardon me but your favorite author caught my attention. Dan Brown is a good writer, in skill is. However, his writings are deceptive. Well if he claims his writings are fictional, it could have been better, but to claim that it actually is a fact is another thing.

I like the Da Vinci code, as well. But do you think it is fiction? I think I'll look for the book Lost Symbol if you could tell me a bit about the book? Have you read any books by Frank Peretti? I could not put those down, once I started. Some of the titles are This Present Darkness, Piercing the Darkness, The Oath, and The Prophet. Really intriguing books.

Da Vinci Code is as just a fiction that was later claimed to be true by Dan brown as the book was becoming popular. There was and there is and there will never be truth in it except that it is a fiction.

My favorite authors are Oscar Wilde, Edgar Allan Poe and Jorge Luis Borges. Im really attracted to their particular narrative styles. And their recurrent topics ... topics you are able to see in one piece of writing, and maybe later you find again in another tale or novel.

My favorite author is Chetan Bhagat, Munshi Premchand and Arindam Chowdhury. Chetan Bhagat has uniqness to describe the situation as a real incident. Munshi Premchand was a person who bought the life style of village people in front of everyone. He described their every sorrow and difficlties. And what to say about Arindam Chowdhury. He is very intelectual person. His book about management gives an energy to the will power.

Wow! Your favorites are good. Is the first one about heroism and the second author is about excellent systems? Combining them both can really be a best seller. I admire the heroism and highly intelligent management topics by authors. But the most one I pursue is the author of the Bible, the Holy Spirit. When I read the Scripture, there I found the real deal

I agree that I read for benefit and I like to chose books that will captivate my interests, yet still enrich my life in some way. I absolutely love most of the books by Frank Peretti. If I can't read one of those books, then I really like the historical fiction. I can learn history and stay involved in the lives of the characters (fictional) that the writer placed in that era. I can't remember the author's name now, but I read a six to eight volume set about the early years of Scotland, the U.S. and England. It was about a time traveler from the 1960's who went back in time about 200 years. Took awhile to read as each book was at least two inches thick.

This is an old topic already but I really appreciate that you posted your response in here. When a book does not captivate your attention then I guess you will not get the most of it so it's better to choose the books of your trusted authors.

I love how Roald Dahl can make a simple plot very interesting. I know I'm old enough to read his works but his books are really awesome and the way he creates the scene is brilliant.
