My dad has high blood pressure and he was advised by his doctor to cut down his intake of pork and fatty foods. No chicken skin, no more coffee, consume more fish rich in omega 3 and fruits and veggies rich in fiber. You should listen to your doctor if you'd like to live longer and not suffer from further damage like stroke nor heart attack.

I don't regularly check my blood pressure since i am still young, i guess. And i don't think i need to since even though i eat unhealthy and fatty food sometimes, i still balance it with fruits and veggies from time to time.

My blood pressure is always normal, except for one time, when I went for check-up, I was told my blood pressure was a bit high. But it's hard to tell if it's true, as I was not feeling well at that time, the doctor said it might be due to my sickness. Also, I have heard that if we didn't sleep well in the night, we might also get higher blood pressure the next day. By the way, I always avoid eating oily and salty food since I was young, as my family has a history of high blood pressure, I do not want to fall into this category too.

My doctor said that stress can make our blood pressure high. Maybe you just have a stressful week.. :)

My blood pressure runs between low and normal. Sometimes my readings are 100/70 or 90/60. I don't like salty things so that may be why its normal or low. If I fry anything its usually in extra virgin olive oil or corn oil. I think people with high blood pressure can definitely control it with a changed lifestyle type diet. Where you stay away from salty stuff all together. I don't even put salt on my baked french fries I only put pepper.

Thanks for sharing this discussion. Yes i think u should lower down the intake of spicy and oily food as they are very crucial in increasing one's blood pressure. It is very important to maintain blood pressure levels below a certain limit otherwise it starts attacking other organs of the body and thereby rendering sudden failure of the body. So healthy foods are a must to overcome them. What say?

Maintaining blood pressure is hard, especially when you're craving foods..

Having balanced nutrition is a good way for being or living healthy. Not only in high blood pressure, several other problems are there.

A healthy diet helps in many ways. The word healthy says it all. It seems that most of us know what we should eat, but none of us stick to that diet. I suppose chips and salami, cakes and cookies are a lot better than veggies

I am kind of a health freak haha, well, I run 5 times per week, drink 3L of water everyday and have an habit of not eating if the time is beyond 6pm. I am a little weight last year but with a little discipline, I am now in my normal weight and have a bp of 110/90 :D Good day
