It`s first time for Rooney as captain of England national team
why??
because the captain, Stevan Gerard is missed because of card accumulation
and vice captain , Lampard get injured
and Roy Hodgson choose Rooney as captain last night
and he did it
He scores 2 goals and helps England win 5-0 against San Marino, the weakest opponent..
Danny Wellbeck scores 2 goals too
and Chamberlain close the party with his goals..
But England get one victim, Theo Wallcot..He get injured after accident with San Marino goalkeeper..I think it can be problem too for Wenger..

It was a good result for England. Of course, they were supposed to beat San Marino easily, but a 5-0 is a very good result. With both forwards Rooney and Welbeck scoring a brace. It was also great to see Oxlade Chamberlain scoring for England. But Walcott injury was real bad one and from Arsenal's point of view also not great and probably the only dark spot in the English performance.

of course..when gerard can`t play because of card accumulation and Frank lampard is absent too, the winning is so important for their morale..even the opponent is only San marino..
yeah..i think wenger must think twice for sending Walcott to england national team..

Club coach has no authority to stop his players from being called up to represent their national team. They just have to release the selected players for national team duty. Even an injured player has to be certified by the FA doctor to stay in his club.

If Hodgson had chosen Hart as the captain of England in last night's game, he would have done well and might have even scored. That is San Marino, a team that England should beat by 10, not 5 goals. It was not a bad result. But it could have been better.
Rooney is a player who always plays with all his heart. He can play in any team and every position and we will still see his determination to win. England and Manchester United is lucky to have got him.

That is the magic of being the captain of England. How to tell the world that he has done well as the new captain for the team when the opposing team is so weak that the ball never reaches his goal for him to save, catch and dive? He can not just sit there quietly all night as the captain, can he? He should go up for corners and freekicks. But Joe Hart was not the captain, so he did not mind.

Thanks for sharing this discussion. Well yes it was a very good day at the office for Rooney and glad to see him leading his team from the front. It is always difficult to score goals while still being a captain as a lot of things run through your mind and great that Rooney has managed it pretty well and i hope him scoring more goals in the future.
