i had a bad dream. like i was a character in a horror movie. so creapy. when i woke up. it's almost like "bangungot" as we call it in Filipino. i thanked God that i was awakened. i prayed that whatever it was or means, it won't ever happen.

Yeah I had my share of dreaming scary things happening to me although for the last three months I hadn't had one such dream. It is really intriguing what could these dreams men to your life and how these dreams can help you improve how you tender your own destiny. They say some dreams give you hints and what could happen to you in the near future bad or good. Others would say dreams are just reminders of how we can solve problems in our life. For me these scary dreams are just products of stress and tensions in our life and sometimes when we see things during the day like when we went watching a horror movie or read some books about ghosts and goblins, we tend to dream about these things when we sleep. The best thing to do I think if we are able to dream about such horrific things is to pray and talk to God afterwards so that he can keep us safe during the day or the whole week.

thanks for sharing. many do say there are meanings of dreams. but mostly, it's affected by our day to day activities and maybe even our past.

that's the complexity of the human body. even the scientists have long been able to identify all the parts of our anatomy, yet the functions and relationships of all the parts when they work altogether, it's a wonder... no... rather, it's a gift. thanks God! and i agree with what you said. subconscious mind plays often during sleep. i wonder how we can let it out while we are awake then. ???

Well said, I would add that sometime it is our unconscious mind's way of expressing to us those thoughts that we have been deeply suppressing. It is odd how I have noticed the more sometimes I try not to think about something or a specific situation I find myself dreaming about that which I have been purposefully keeping my mind from thinking about when I go to sleep. It is so intriguing the way that the brain works.

and if it is a good dream, how i wish it could happen too. i would be enjoying to see and feel it right in front of my eyes what is happening. and to add more thrill to it, i would be playing psychic telling anyone with me what's going to happen next and if it does, it's gonna be a lot of fun too. lol.

I wish I could take that point of view. I once had a bad dream that has very vivid. I remember shrugging it off saying that could never happen. Then to my horror the dream played out in reality about a week later. It pretty much freaked me out. For the longest time afterwards, I fought to keep myself from dreaming. It took quite a few years to get to the point where I could feel safe that dreams would not become a nightmarish reality again. I am finally to the point where I enjoy dreaming again. The only problem is that if it is a good dream I do not want to wake up.

Generally, I try to go back to sleep and dream about something else but that does not always work because sometimes I'll drift to a dream with another scary scenario. It is like to trying to change television channels sometimes you get a better dream sometimes all that is on is the worst shows. I think part of it has to do with you frame of mind. If you feel like bad things are going to happen you keep making scenarios in your head that end up being bad dreams. If you are fortunate you wake up and chose to change your mindset and go back to sleep with pleasant dreams.

actually, you said about music, i didn't complete what was my dream about, and i don't want to recall it. instead, i want to comment on the music that you mentioned. i slept with my radio on. and in my dream, there was music too, and when i woke up, it was the same music that was playing on my radio. that's why i said it's even more creepy.

I hope it does work for you. I know how tough it is when you have bad dreams. There are times when such stresses and worries are so overpowering that it takes a lot of effort to distract myself from those types of negative thoughts. Sometimes it helps to distract yourself some way like turning on music or audio book. It is like you start listening and thinking about what you are hearing, and it helps to stop that train of bad thoughts that keep swirling through your head with all the worst possible scenarios.

It's just like walking out of the theater after a scary movie: sure, you might be a little scared to be by yourself for a little while; but it's all in your head

true. but at times, it's just like a "last song syndrome", keeps playing over time. yet again, as you said, it's all in the head. if you try to divert your thinking into something else, it will pass.

Yes I've had very bad dreams where I actually wake up in a cold sweat. I usually wake up my poor husband & ask him to hold me until I calm down. I know it's a very girlish thing to do, but it really does help me calm down. It's best to stay away from scary movies or refrain from reading scary books. I no longer do either now & it's been quite a while since I've had a bad dream like that.

whoa! i never entertained scary movies nor books, not even crime stories. technologies in creating the effects in movies nowadays are just so real, i don't want to watch it. i have a good memory about things that i see and it sometimes keep playing in my mind even after a few days.

I'm glad to hear that you stay away from such things like scary movies & books. Your very smart. You did right in saying a prayer right after your bad dream. God will give you the comfort you need & keep you safe.

Freud say's that a bad dream means that you have a fear of something in your subconcious or you are afraid of something! maybe you had recently a bad-day, and this influenced you!

I had a bad dream about my friend, I feel that she is distancing herself from me and maybe doesn't want to know me any more we have been friends for 9 years now, but I sense that she feels different and she doesn't contact me or wants to know anything about me. I don't usually have bad dreams, but the bad dream was about her that I had taken her to a foreign country and lost her, and I was getting the blame for losing her, it felt so real too because of the feeling of losing her friendship.

wow, you must have had a lot of good memories and shared a lot of secrets with that friend. maybe you count her more than just a friend, like a sister. a family. i think at least try to find her or contact her if you have any way of contacting her. be it a regular mail if you only have remember her address. maybe, just maybe, she is also missing you a lot. thanks for sharing

I usually have a rude awakening when i had a bad dream, my body would be sweaty and sometime i just make some noises i can not even understand; usually what i will do is to wipe off my sweat and drink a glass of water to calm me down. I would try to fall back to sleep again if possible even though it may be difficult to do that, especially when the time is still too early to wake up. If it is in the early morning hour, like in the dawn, i would wake up and refuse to get back to bed. It is just tough to know what i am supposed to do after getting scare out my common senses.

yes i refused to go back to sleep when i had it last night. so i browsed the net for some time until i was able to focus on other things in my mind. time helped me to get back my calmness and be very sleepy again. i just said a little prayer to get me back to sleep and that i may get good rest at least, also not to get back to any bad dreams again. thank God, i woke up a bit late but i feel better.
