I was talking on the phone with a friend and washing out the cat dishes in the sink. Plop! my phone hit the sink, water running on top of it. Immediately I took off the cover to find the battery was not wet and it didn't look like any water got inside, though I know it did get in the speaker because the phone was facing up with the water running right on top of it. Dried it off best as I could, said a prayer and turned it on. It worked! It worked fine. A few days ago I couldn't hear my friend so well, but she was on her bluetooth. Another friend called, also on bluetooth so I couldn't hear so good. Then my friend with the landline called and she has no bluetooth. I am having some trouble hearing her speak, and she is kind of loud on the phone. This has gone on now for about 4 days, and I think a new phone is in order. But I don't want a new one, I can't afford it and there are no phones with my carrier I like. Then I found an article on the internet about a new plan from Metro PCS, for $30.00 month everything and limited 4g. but I don't like the phones. I want a qwerty slider, android and a battery that lasts more than 4-5 hours talk time. The battery life on Metro phones leaves much to be desired, though they are my current carrier I'm not very pleased with the phones but the service is ok, I get fewer dropped calls than Sprint and some of the other major networks in my area, plus a $50.00 month fee that includes everything, so I don't have to guess what my bill is going to be every month. $30.00 with 4g even though it is limited, is better than what I am paying now. Would you get the new phone and monthly service plan for $30.00 if you could? Would you get the plan, even if you are not crazy about the phones they are offering for the $30.00 plan?

oh this so is sad, your phone is wet then now it has malfunctioned. I think $30 is a bit expensive though if your really have the money then get it. well I think try to see other phone plan that really suit your budget.

I am paying $50.00 now for the plan, and that is the going rate for unlimited web, text and talk on prepaid carriers such as Metro PCS. I just bought this phone about 2 years ago and spent more than I wanted to, but it was the cheapest smartphone they had and i wanted to use the web more efficiently so I bought it. Now if i go with this $30.00 plan, i have to pay for a new phone as well. They won't give me the plan unless I buy a specific phone from them. What carrier is the best deal in your opinion? If I can get an unlimited plan for about the same price somewhere else, I may just do that.

hmm i think you really should try to see other options. $30 is a bit good deal but usually with that you ought to be having an unlimited data plan and not a limited one like what you have said.

The data plan is included, it's just the 4g is capped. After I reach the cap, it will slow to 3g speeds.

What would you recommend? I am unaware of any phone carriers charging the same or less for an unlimited plan. I did check into Virgin, but you get only 400 minutes of talk time with their $30.00 plan.
