I watched the evening news few seconds ago, one of the known channel feature the online survey of sleepingairport.net. Based on result, NAIA 1 is considered the worst airport in Asia. Crowded area inside the building, lot of damage on the ceiling, you are not comfortable to stay longer and kick backs from different crews. Aside from that not correct not correct taxi meters. I've been on that terminal last 2 times. First when I flew to Saudi Arabia and second when I go home last April 26, 2012. What can you about the news?

Hello Julyteen, It's not their fault, Henry Sy promised to make the airport better but unfortunately he didn't and fired a lot of employees. there was a rally of the former employees and recently laid off people from NAIA that they ended up going along with the others. they can improve the out look but they need to offer more grounds and support to the crew and disciplined the immigration

It's not Henry Sy business because he doesn't have business related to flights, no idea if he owned one Airlines. What I know, Lucio Tan own a major share in PAL. It's government responsibility to modernize NAIA 1, after they did it in NAIA 3.

Oh, yeah I forgot, how can some one owns a huge share and then does a little thing about the airport. i think there has to be some revamp on the management so that he or she won't have to violate the rules and allow passengers to violate and pay some bribe to the immigration. well, that will take time i hope they do it.

Yes, we should criticize Lucio Tan and boycott PAL if he don't do anything our airport. He received a big revenue from his airlines operations and he didn't return back our dues?

I thought we are the only worst, no thinking there are also worst in any parts of the world So far, not all bad. If we evaluate all the advantage and disadvantages, still advantage won.

I don't think they would recognize that since Media always picked on the third world countries like the Philippines. I don't think there's any thing for them to picked on except my country because we always show the bad side of the Philippines. well, there was a situation here in the air port wher cops themselves are involve in stealing baggages.

I've been there twice and so far had not had any unpleasant experience nor did I notice the damages on the ceiling. Regarding the airport taxis, they do have a reputation of charging far more than the ordinary taxis. I have not experienced it myself because I have avoided taking airport taxis if in case that were true.

How much was the fare? And how fare was the ride? I'll just take your word for it and will never try it myself unless I hear something otherwise like if they change the taxi meters etc.

It was happened to in NAIA 3. I arrived 11:30 in the evening, to be more safe I got NAIA metered taxi. The meter runs faster than the taxi I ride

Honestly, we cannot blame the survey. We knew it, Terminal 2 is even better than Terminal 1

No question on it terminal 2 should be the best because almost all flights own by PAL. Apparently it's above normal only not well modernize. I tried to onboard NAIA 2 when I went home after few weeks staying in Manila from Saudi Arabia and it seems not so comfortable compared to NAIA 3. I am about to used again NAIA 1 soon hope I cannot encounter any delayed or problems inside or else I will write it to my blog and praise Pnoy

I really wish International flight will use Terminal 2 and 3- woooohhh that would benefit me more each time I need to welcome and drop my mom every year. I hate the heat on NAIA while waiting for my mom's arrival huh -duh!!!

Well, terminal one is old and cannot accomodate more passengers than it should be. i think terminal 1 should have been more offered for domestic flights alone. and then terminal 2 and three should be more focus on the international flights.

So you have seen NAIA Terminal 1 already, july? What can you say about it then? Is the judgement true or not. I really can't say yes to the news because i have never been there actually.

I've been inside of NAIA-1 twice already when I leave Philippines last April 27, 2010 and came back on April 26, 2012. But I didn't notice anything except it was very crowded inside and I need to stay for 2 our outside the airport because I came very early. I don't know why that was happened?

No, NAIA-1 still good compared to other airport even in Middle East. There are lots of worst airport in Middle East compared to NAIA.

So, can you say that it is one of the worst airport in the world?

Hi! Yes it's the worst. But wait what can we do to help make it a better one? Foreign men and women have bad experiences in the Philippines because of problems and anomalies existing not only in NAIA terminal 1. I just hope one day, this will become better if not the best.

The election is gain coming soon and I hope that no other promises will arise on this regard. We hope that action will be the next one to be on the headline. Our airports is our gateway with other nations so the Government should work on this, and allocate budget on this very important project.

Well I guess they needed that to at least know the status of that airport. I guess it is quite old already and needs lots of repair since the maintenance is not that good either. I think the management needs to look into this seriously as this will create a bad image for our country.

They should take actions quickly to rescue our reputations from different tourist around the globe. How we can promote foreigners to visit our country, when they arrived in our airport they already annoyed and upset.

Frankly, I don't even know where is NAIA. Is this an abbreviation? Perhaps it is a small place and therefore the equipment is poor? It is hard to believe that its ceiling has a lot of damage.

Yes it is only an abbreviation of Ninoy Aquino International Airport located here in the Philippines. Check out this link: http://beta.photobucket.com/images/NAIA+Terminal+1/

hi julu thats not a great re commendation for the NaIa airport one feels one should have a comfortable place to wait for boarding your flight. here in the USA our airports are most all of them clean and neat and pleasant to sit and wait to board. graft among cab drivers does not happen here n the US. sorry to hear about bad air port taxis meters not being accurate at all

Last time when I onboard NAIA 1, it was normal for me because that was my first time to check in for an International Flight. When I arrived also after 2 years, I wasn't caught any problems maybe because I was so excited to saw my families.

hi julyteen oh thats r eally awful.one expects when he or she pu trs out that much money for airfare they should have a comfortable place to stay while waiting to embark on their flight.not correct taxi meters sounds like graft to me. Here in the USA our airports are all fairly decent.clean and apparently well kept up too. I d o not fly often bu t I see news articles and our air ports always come out as b eing in good condition,

There are also opportunist taxi drivers out there. I remember when I flew from our city Davao, we landed in NAIA 3, the modern airport terminal here but the problem to was the taxi. I was billed much compared to the kilometers we travel.

Hi, NAIA is "one" of the worst, which means there are other ones as well. It escapes me but the rankings may have been omitted but if I have to, it may rank ten if one is the lowest. Why, NAIA has lesser accidents than in most major airports in the world, compared to lost baggage and lousy accommodation, Manila airport is still has to have a single plane or two being chased by firetrucks and paramedics while taxiing down the runway or for landing somewhere else due to heavy traffic and faulty avionics/personnel on the control tower.

Flight delayed always been practice in NAIA. How many times observe it when I used domestic flights. One of the worst only, if you read the complains of responder #1 from Mexico they also experience worse than what we have here.

I think there's some truth into this. I flew twice from terminal 1 when I booked for Thai Airways. Even at the check-in counter, you can smell the nasty toilet. It really is embarrasing because some foreign nationals would tie hankies to cover their noses. And when I really have to go, it is much much worse inside the toilet. Of course I told myself that it could be that day only. But my brother flies in and out from there every 3 months and he said it still smells funny in there.

Never used their comfort room last time though I stayed longer. Can you imagine having that worst odor from the toilet. Government should take action about this issue soonest possible. We would be ashamed to our foreign visitors. We are hoping to have millions of visitors every year and won't stop promoting our country through media, how tourist come back again if they didn't find "There's no fun in the Philippines"
