Anyone Watching Once Upon A Time?

After the first season has ended and now the second season has begun, I'm thinking maybe this show is going off track. I loved how it was incorporating all these fairy tales into the story and the theme seemed to be about how these fairy tale characters have been moved to Storybrooke because of the Curse. But now it seems like they are adding characters that are not really fairy tale characters but are within the Disney list of movies. Yes they are from other stories from around the world, however, do they actually qualify as fairy tales? At least in the sense that most of the first season was about? Even in the first season they veered away from fairy tales by putting Pinocchio into the story. However, this second season, by adding Mulan, and Lancelot from the story about the Knights of the Round Table, Merlin, etc...those are not traditional fairy tales. Now it appears Captain Hook and Peter Pan will be included next week. Disney owns the network and it seems like Disney is controlling the story rather than the writers themselves. What do you think? Is it following the original theme or has it jumped the shark (as some people call it when a tv show messes up and goes in a wrong direction?)

I tend to agree with you. It does seem like the show is veering a little far afield as far as the new characters being introduced. However it is not surprising to me given the fact that Disney owns the network. It seems they want to get as many of their fictional characters in as possible. I do feel though that the show is still entertaining and interesting to watch. it has enough action and drama in it to keep a person's interest.

They do keep you wondering which characters are going to show up from week to week. I do like the main story line and hope this show continues at least long enough to come to a good conclusion. I don't like getting really hooked on a tv series only to have it cancelled without some type of good ending. Or even worse, having ended the final season with a big cliff hanger and no chance of finding out what happened.
