Such an Idiot!!

Hi guys I have been looking for a painter to polish the furniture we bought. Hubby is busy with work and I had to do it. So one painter came with his assistant and said he will take one chair a day to finish and the charge is also so high. We have like 45 chairs and 20 tables. It is the heavy wooden ones with antique look.. So you can imagine how many days and cost it will become for us. I tell you ' he was such an idiot' came to just fool us. i sent him away right away.. I could not stand him anymore. Now we have got painters who are working from morning. They are two of them and they have done like 20 chairs today. I am very happy with their work. Thank God I got these two and I chased the first painter. I had had one carpenter before who was so slow that he took one stool to make in the whole day. These kind of people are just making days long because they are getting paid day wise and more days will become if they do slow work. I hate those kind of workers. I am so happy with these two that I will ask hubby to give then some bonus. Whole day they have not sat to waste time. They had lunch and immediately started again. Don't you think workers like this should be rewarded??

There are some workers who would take advantage of their employers.Few days ago my mom had our kitchen counter made of tiles and concrete removed since our trusted workman was not available,my mom hired another workman- the husband of our laundry woman.He was able to tear down the tiles but was not able to pave the surface of the floor and suggested that he comes back the next day. My mom was disappointed so she didn't hire the man again.He could have finished his job in one day if he wanted to

Once my father appointed a person to clear out the waste plans and other things in the garden. He was really appointed to plant some new plants and just to cut and shape the shrubs in a quite good manner also to clean the pond . He took about one and half a day to finish the whole work. Normally it is my father who do it. He finish it by three-forth of a day. My father simply wasted his money by spending wages for him. Some of the people who work on wages are too good who shows respect to the work they do and tries to finish the work in time with neatness but there are some who just spent time for something else and take down the wage.

Hi riyauro, Yes, when there is some work like this i am sure there are many workers who look forward to stretching the time or material for more cost and eventually get paid more. My dad is building his house now and we too after a careful analysis picked up a good contractor and he is doing a good job with our house. Sometimes though the material used, we have to keep a check on it otherwise they sometimes get unnecessarily high priced parts for building and they charge over it. Yes, like in your other discussion i responded to, you have done well with giving them some space to get comfortable, i am sure they must have appreciated your offering and must have done their work for satisfying a yield.

hi riya, good to know that you found good workers have done 20 chairs a day. its really good. We cannot any one these days. The workers take too much time to complete the work,if the money is given days wise. we had a bad experience with a carpenter, few days back. He came ,bargaining everything is done, it was for a study table. He asked for some money ,so that he can come and start the work the next day, it was like a commission, not too much but, we wouldn't have given him, he took the money ,and went away never came back till today. yes , bonus can be given to the hard working people . They deserve it. you did the right thing.

Hi friend, good to hear about the new painters, as you mentioned they finished the work quickly, surely they are deserved for your rewards and appreciation. Your previous painter mentioned that it takes a day for a chair, i think he is interested in getting more money from you and do the work slowly, so only he told that it will take a long time, anyway you finished the work in short and sweet manner. Hope you praised your painter and give rewards to him

You are right workers who are doing their job very well are worth for extra pay. Thank God we can still find those people around. Though, they are so rare nowadays. Normally, workers are just for money. They work so slow and demand for higher pay. So sad but must face the reality and be wise enough in choosing the right workers. They keep on fooling people without even thinking how hard to earn money.

Hi riyauro, you are a good business woman! Yes, you found some good workers for yourself. I think a bonus would be very nice because they would appreciate it a lot. If you need work done in the future you can call them. They would be glad to work for you and most likely do an excellent job. Also letting them know you will give them a good recommendation if they need one would be nice. It's hard to find good workers these days. You're lucky you got these guys. I'm glad to hear you're moving right along with your plans for the restaurant. Thanks for sharing your day to day progress with us.
