I just received a postcard from a friend who is trvelling now to another country. I feel so happy that even though I can't travel she has sent me a picture of a place to see how beautiful it is. I also do this to my friends. I want them to enjoy what I am enjoying and hopefully if they have enough time and budget could travel there too. I enjoy receiving letters or postcards from posts because I collect stamps too. So, I am really greatful for my friend. This little thing or act has made my day. What about you? Do you also send postcards when travelling or have ever received lately? Are a stamp collector too? What has your friend done that made your day?

I don't do postcards anymore, I just buy some small trinkets like keychains for friends when I get back home. But one time, I did send my little sister a postcard when me and my husband were in Thailand. Surprisingly, she did not receive it until a couple of weeks after I am back home.

I like to bring little things too back home. Oh, that's too bad, you came first before the postcard.

I used to send postcards to my friends when I was younger, I don't now, when I went somewhere new or travelled abroad, trouble is most of the time I would arrive back before the postcard go to them, or they never received them! It was a waste of postage money, I also sent one to work and I got criticized from work colleagues for doing this, so I stopped sending them to work. I like to collect postcards when I am abroad but I keep them for myself, I have a lovely picture of Amsterdam when I went there for the first time. My friend still sends me them even though she goes to the same place every year! It's nice to be thought of!

Thanks a ton for posting this discussion. Glad to hear that u received a postcard from your friend who is in another country and this act and gesture would have got a big broad smile on your face and would have made your day as u said. I know it feels great to explore the places that u have not traveled and those that u have always heard or read from certain sources and have always wished to go there and when u get such postcards that the happiness knows no bounds. What say?

Some of my friends does sends postcards when they travel abroad, but I don't. I don't do this not because I care less about my friends or families it's just with today's emails, facebook, blogs and other social media it's easier to upload photos and stuff to tell them about your whereabouts. When I go abroad it's just for three days, SO I make sure I spent my time exploring the place and enjoying the food! I am happy for you co's you have a good friend who takes times to send a postcard. Seldom people does it. Collecting stamp is quite an expensive hobby but I am happy for those who does it, it's always good to look at their scrapbooks. Happy mylotting to you.

I have some collected stamps although I prefer to collect coins. I like to receive a postcard from a friend or relative on their travels. I sometimes send postcards on my travels to family members and friends. It was annoying that nobody received a postcard from South Africa. I guessed that the stamps might have been stolen. I buy postcards to keep myself and put in my own collection. I have three books with my postcards in. Today I had a lovely surprise hearing a friend of mine had her baby born a couple of days ago. He is a baby boy and his name will begin with a "m". That happy news has really made my day.

That's nice to send postcards when you have the travel. However, usually I don't have the time to do so. As I have to buy the local postcards and then write down words on it and then go to the post office to send them. One day I received a postcard who was sent by my friend and at that time she traveled to the Himalayas. It means a lot for me

I use to send post card to my foreign friends but now I seldom do it due to social sites. Sometimes uploading pictures on social sites and sharing it to them is enough. Although, sending them post card is still different- I guess I will do it again this coming season.

I frequently received those postcards everytime my friend, brother or some of my relatives travel around the globe. I really appreciate that deed, because I'm being remembered. I'm glad of havign those people that reminds me the beauty of life particularly in travelling. As to the stamp collecting, in my younger days, I believe, I always do that. But if given the chance, I would do that again. A simple hug or a friendly gesture would eventually make my day. Simple things in life are free and they are the best, I believe.
