what the journalist want is done.. TNI (indonesian millitary) had done what the journalist want.. The journalist want TNI must say sorry to journalist after one of their officer kick the journalist in riau after the crash of air force (Hawk).. in the confererence press, commander of TNI, Admiral Agus suhartono apologized for assaults on journalist by Air Force personnel in Riau.. Admiral Agus Suhartono " Iam concerned over the unexpected incindent..As the leader of TNI, hebery apologize to the mass media especially for the journalis involved in the incident.. I had asked to relevant party or divisions to take necessary action to follow up the incident the incindent (assault) is started when the air force personel said that the journalist isn`t allowing comes to the place of crash of hawk..but maybe the journalist insist to come into the place.. And the incindent start.. Five reporters - Didik Herwanto (Riau Pos daily); Andika Pratama (Vokal daily); F. B. Rian Anggoro (Antara news agency); Robi Fahrianto (Riau TV), and M. Arivin (TV One) -- were beaten and kicked, and their cameras seized. A photograph and a video, which captured the moment when an officer grabbed Didik around the throat, were widely circulated among journalists. Bystanders who took pictures of the plane's wreckage with their cell phones were also beaten by military officers. after the incident, many reaction from journalist association..they accuse the incident and complaint to TNI..and asked, the officer is punished..and they urget do boycott TNi events.. it`s not the first time when TNI or police do something like that when they didn`t want there are information about them but maybe in another perspectives, the journalist comes into the forbidden area.. maybe they must sit together and talk about MoU about the journalist and the military or police..so this case is the last incident what do you think about it??

Interesting!!!!! Well, at my previous job I often help a TNI AU officer to send report and news to some media like KR, Radar jogja, etc. But Im not side anyone. In this case, the Air force officers looked so over react but I believe there is no smoke without fire, there must be a strong reason why the air force officers did what they did to the journalist, we cannot only look at the case from one side only. Military plane accident is different than civil airplane accident, not everyone have the right to enter military zone and taking picture because it might contains military secret that should not be revealed to public. Yes I understand that those journalists were doing their job to take picture and reporting the news but there are some thing that they are not supposed to take because it is military air plane. They also need to respect the military secret. If you think that the air force officers was being arrogant and cruel toward the journalist, let's find out how was the journalist's behavior? Did they respect the military privacy and secret? Sometimes journalist acts too over and hides behind "freedom of speech". Some of the journalists ignoring journalistic ethics and have no respect because all they want just to get hot spicy news. I do understand that the Air force officers try to protect their military secret, although Im dissapointed that they choose violence as the solution. But if you are facing narrow minded arrogant journalist, while in other side you also perform your duty to protect top secret military secret...well I dont blame the air force officer at all. My conclusion, there is no smoke without fire. This case is happen because both are arrogant. So both are wrong. Now for the journalists, would you have a big heart to admit your mistake as the air force officers did?

yes of course no smoke without a fire.. i stay in the position, both of them have a part to this misunderstanding that the air force officer is wrong, yes they are wrong but i think the journalist makes mistake too..maybe they push the officer of air force to come in, when air force officer had asked and hoped that the journalist not to come, becuase this is the place of accident, something happen can occur and air force didn`t want to take the risk..that`s why maybe, maybe again, they isolated the place and didn`t give permit the journalist to come into the place of accident..maybe

it`s not AU officer but the commander of TNI but i think it`s enough.. don`t force anymore another TNI institutions for saying something the journalist too should understand the procedure in Air force or military area or zone..

That's right, as I know air force has a staff for press release because at my previous job I often met the staff and helped him. Why dont the journalists wait until the air force make a press release about the accident? Why did they have to force to enter the accident zone? Especially because it is military plane, it is not civil air plane accident. There are things that forbidden to reveal to public, and they must respect that. It is easier to put the blame on the air force but none knows the whole story. Of course we cant expect the journalist to admit that they provoked the air force officer. Yes, the air force officer was wrong but how about the journalists? There are always 2 sides of everything, we just cannot see from one 1 side only. I think TNI AU is gentle enough to send apologize for the incident.

The picture of the journalist being beaten and pinned to the ground was widely published in our media. When i read the report and see the poor journalist laying in the ground with the uniformed man kicking him I feel sorry for the journalist who was only doing his job. I don't understand why a highly disciplined military officials would resort to such a barbaric act to bar reporters from the site. This is a serious matter and the doer should be punished severely as military units are not supposed to harm the public. It is regreatable that the military officials chose to use force instead of diplomacy.
