How should I do when our manager smokes ?

That was probably the most annoying thing when i worked for this company. Our manager is addicted to cigarette for almost four years because of working pressure. He said he could relax when smoking.As a girl,I can not understand the reason. Now, the problem is how to cope with him when he smokes near me. I did not come up with a good idea to stop him. Now, I had a cough due to his smoking. He would smoke three packs of cigarettes a day, and often ask me to buy them for him. I am working with him in the same office ! It's a headach when the fresh air was polluted in the morning. Bad Mood! Looking for helping. Thanks myloting friends.

Oh, that's so rude of your boss. My boss smokes too but since we are in an air-conditioned office, he don't smoke here. We have break tmes and he goes out to smoke. When our department has gatherings and he smokes, I just cover my mouth and cough a little so he will know that I don't like smoke. Hope you find a way to get away with it.

yesterday, he came back and smoked a lot, i coughed and try to stop him politely, but he said, "you should learn to endure" , god ! I said, "you dunt care about your healthe, but i must take care of myself. I'm so angry with him so that i can not put up with it any more. save me !

In my country, it's illegal to smoke inside a building and also to smoke in the workplace. I don't know about your country but if there's a law against smoking in the workplace in your country, you should tell your manager and if he won't listen to you, you can always go to his supervisor or contact the home office. As an employee, it is within your rights to work in a comfortable environment and not one that could affect your health.

I thought it is not allowed to smoke in offices.. or public buildings? Maybe you should just ask for a transfer before you get sicker from second hand smoking. UI hate smokers too.. i wonder why people do it, there is no benefit from it.
