Now a days nobody take the risk to help others, but will try to avoid it at any cost.Let me tell about my experience,we were traveling through an artery road and a tempo hit a bike which was keeping its lane, the bike rider was grievously injured, nobody stopped their vehicle to help the bike rider. They were afraid of the police complication and refused to save the life of this rider. We had to wait for an ambulance to get him to the hospital,When we admitted him to the hospital, even hospital staffs were dealing with us as if we were at fault. All this was because we stopped our car to help the injured driver.Even now the police harass us,asking to identify the tempo truck driver, and accuse us for not remembering the truck number.Recently, when we saw an accident,we informed the police and ambulance, but was reluctant to get involved due to our earlier experience.Do you agree with our behaviour.

How horrible! I am glad you helped the bike rider but very sorry that the system is so screwed up that they try to put the blame on you. I think I would always at least call an ambulance I could not let someone suffer just because I was afraid to deal with the struggles that might come because of it. I am glad someone helped my son when he was in a terrible wreck or he might not be alive. We did not even sue the person who caused the accident. It would not make my son any better.

I was angry at way people are treated, when they help somebody involved in an accident.Thank God there was somebody to help your son.We have to help the victims of accident, irrespective of the difficulty we face.Even though I get angry,I always try my maximum to help these victims to get to the hospital because someday we may also face an accident.

Not sure what country you live in. This is sad to hear. In most western countries, the police will help the injured and will appreciate the help of a Good Samaritan. I never heard of the police giving the witnesses a hard time. Well, I am sorry that where you live, the police give people such a hard time. I would still do what you can to help others - perhaps, without getting the police involved.

I am from Kerala, which is the southern tip of India. There has some changes in the attitude of the police after hue and cry in the newspaper about this draconian act.
