After 7 years my favorite wrist watch stop and i think need a new battery. I bought it 7 years ago from my first salary and it really help me when I am working in the hospital to count the heart rate, respiratory rate, pulse rate and in giving med at the right time. But now it's not working maybe need a battery or need to replace it. It's 2:42 am here in my country (Philippines) and my watch stopped around 7:52 pm when the bus accident happened. I think better to keep it and buy a new one.

I think after 7 years you got your monies worth. Go to the swap meet and buy another one, good for another 7 years.

Oh that's good that it lasted for that long. The money was worth it with the watch that you have bought. If it just need to change battery, better change the battery so it could last for few more years but better buy a new one if it can't really fixed and keep the old one as souvenir.

Maybe you should look into a battery first since you like the watch so much. But if you, my experience here in the U.S. is that it might be best, especially for an expensive watch, to go to a jewelery store that sells watches and get the battery there since they will usually install for not extra charge at least here in the U.S. This is because without the proper tools and training, one can damage the watch permanently with just a slip with the battery and it touching the wrong places.

yes, even though we get use to something we already have and use, it is good to get another one. they have brand new and even better watches today which can do what your other watch did. i think it may be time for a new one. it is your choice, however. you can look around and see if there is a watch you like better than your old watch, if not and they still have a battery for it perhaps that would be better.

Hi clocks123, my husband bought me a new watch and also bought a battery for my old one. He told me if i do not like the new one i can always use my old wrist watch, but to be honest i like them both and i will use them alternately.

If you want to keep it as souvenir, something to remember an unforgettable event- that would be fine. I guess you can keep it as momentum- to remind of something/unforgettable experience.

My wrist watch is still working after it was bought in 2005. It is also seven years old, and the original battery is still working, though its light can not be seen very clearly in the dark. Mine is a Timex brand. It is a very good wrist watch and I love it very much. I think mine will last for at least half a year. Take care, Bhebelen.

Oh, your watch must quite expensive since it lasted so long without changing the batteries.. So it needs a battery to operate, it's not automatic. maybe you do need to change the battery..and it will work like before.

Well, i think your wrist watch has served you so well already, belen. I have a wrist watch also that until now, since i bought it last 2000, it's still working. And to think that at that time i only bought it for PhP400.00 . It's Q & Q, the sister company of Citizen. I have seen that this brand now, costs at least PhP800, on its cheapest type. But i for one , can vouch that it is indeed super durable. I am now alternately using it with my new watch though. And another new watch will be coming soon next week , courtesy of my friend from the US.

A watch with seven years of life is something great I think the battery is empty that may be the reason why it is not working now. Anyway show it to the repairer he will make it alive

I can see that it has a sentimental value. I'm for one have a watch which wss given by my father when he leave the country. I seldom use it then but now, this is what i use at work, to check my time for work and if it is time to go home. I can see somehow the relation on the stopping of your watched and the bus accident, maybe its not yet your time because you have lot to do things yet. Take care. Thank.

Thanks a ton for posting this discussion. Wow really glad to hear that your watch has worked for 7 long years and that is a very rare achievement for watch instead. ha ha ha. Well it is always great when the same object works for many years without any hiccups and u still do not feel like replacing it with a new one as your love for it still intact. What say?

Wow, that must have been a good battery! Maybe you just need to go to a jeweler and get a new battery. I never could wear a watch that had the face on it. There is something in my body that makes a watch like that go hay wire. I always have to get a digital watch. You definitely need a good watch since you're in the nursing field.
