I'm one of the hopeful that this coming election Filipino people will be in peace and no violence will occur, I pray that politician will live their promise to the people so that the country of the Philippines will show her potential as a country that is rich in resources and rich of intelligent people.. I wonder how does Filipinos based their standard in choosing their leaders this coming election? I hope they will based it on good platforms not only because the politician is popular...

I wish all our politicians have platforms, but very few have them and almost always those few have no chance of winning. Our Election has become a mockery of peoples' right of suffrage. They present us of 2 choices, evil and lesser evil. Traditional politician against popular artist. They woo are poverty stricken populations with gifts and money and broken promises. We have two major party now : The Liberals and the UNA, what is our choices or do we have a choice? They are the different dog with same collar? A good democratic government need a strong opposition but we don't. I just hope that this coming election less bloodier and less corrupt than last year election...

Allow me to gather the terms: mockery, evil. lesser evil, trapos, popart, dogs with same collars, less bloodier, less corrupt, doom. This is the current and true picture of the way elections is carried in our country today. Can we do something to make it honest, orderly, peaceful elections (HOPE)? Think of ways!

@ericpapasit Agree! Almost all advance economy except notably for America are parliamentarians. Mostly nations with presidential form of government are corrupt and in economic disaster. Our political party structures now is actually parliamentary because of multiparty system. A presidential form of government is a two party system as in the US where we base our model before. The concept of two party is to make MAJORITY of the electorate to choose the president. The framer of Cory Constitution actually submit a constitution in parliamentary form, but Cory reject the system because she don't want to share the power with the parliament who can dislodge her anytime. She want complete control of the government and so she revert it back to presidential form without getting back the 2 party system. So now we have to be govern as always by a MINORITY President.

Yes, election is coming.. I never had a good experience in election.. since politicians rarely change.. They rarely do the things they promise, they still campaign earlier than scheduled, they still buy votes..and the people rarely learn and vote for the one that gave them money or the one who promises well. I hope this election will be better.

I think it would be better if people were not going to vote those who give money to them.. they can accept the money, if they really need it, but they should still vote for who they think is worthy of the position. People should be more strict in vote buying and also cleaning up their mess.

Somebody here has posted that electorates are faced with 2 kinds of candidates to vote for during elections: the more evil and the lesser evil. The former is a reelectionist and has already amassed wealth and power while the latter is the opposition and challenger. I really don't know whom to cast my vote.
