Polical Dynasty: Impossible to implement

I heard an interview yesterday of a political aspirant, who is running for senator because his father is already on his last term as a senator. When asked if he is aware that there exists a political dynasty prohibition on the Constitution, he said he is aware about it but there is no implementing law regarding the said prohibition. And the glaring fact is, it would be impossible for any implementing rules to be created governing political dynasty because the lawmakers, majority of them, are guilty of such practice. Shame on them!! What is your view regarding this?

Yeah I guess everybody who is in politics right now are into building a dynasty of their own to stay in power. Too bad that no law can stop them since most of them are violating it. This is the sad part of our country who is supposed to be called democracy but is actually like oligarchy kind of government since the people running there are all related to one another to protect the interest of the family.

Thanks for the response. Yes, we have a so-called democratic country. There is no such thing as prohibition on political dynasty because the lawmakers have found and will continue finding loopholes on this prohibition. So that they will continue to reign our country.

I believe there is a provision in the constitution that discourages the political dynasty but I guess even those in the government are turning a deaf ears on the provision since they always say they are just doing their best to serve their communities they were voted. The true essence of democracy will never be seen anymore. I think it is not the politicians who is to be blamed for this but the voters as well. The voters themselves are actually putting these people in power and themselves so how can you really stop them from reigning in their own territories if the family is allowed by the people to ran and be seated in power.

hi there arystine.
i know that there is a provision in the 1986 constitution about the prohibition of political dynasties in the country. however, this law is not implemented at all.
personally, in my opinion, at the end of the day, it is really up to the voters if they will allow a political dynasty to exist or not. one vote may not mean much but when polled together, these votes decide the fate of these so-called political dynasties!
cheers and happy mylotting!!!
