Call me silly but I do like to watch this stuff. The 67th Annual Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation Dinner is one such event. I watched the speeches of President Obama http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S6g2YkTAYQ4 and Governor Romney http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yBelIMrKll8 I think these events help to humanize the candidates. Did you watch? what is your opinion?

The President's comments tonight are brought to you by the letter "O" and the number 16,000,000,000,000. I enjoyed their speeches. A perfect chance to get in some debating while hiding behind humor. I also think Romney's material was way better than Obama's, but the President's delivery is a lot better in terms of timing, inflection, and those other things you look for in speech.

laglen Well if you are silly so am I..I LOVED watching the remarks from both of them. I have seen humor from Obama but I was surprised with this side of Romney..he was fantastic and his timing couldn't have been better. Who knew he had such a fabulous sense of humor!! I wish everyone would see this..I think it would certainly disspell the smear that Mitt is cold or heartless. In fact I have watched the tapes seveal times...I also enjoyed GW when he went to the correspondents diners.

But I did notice that Romney hit Obama a bit more than Obama hit Romney. I guess there was just more to make fun of with Obama.

I watched it and like you really enjoyed seeing this side of the candidates. I did however wonder what each was 'truly' thinking as the other made jokes about them. I think this kind of thing relaxes everyone in the midst of a tense campaign, makes us all remember that we are all human.
