I have programs to do several things with videos. I have one that can be used to change the format such as size, quality to some extent, type such as xvid, mp4, etc. I have one that can be used to split out parts of a video and I have one that can be used to join videos of the same format, etc. I also have a video screen capture program; this one can be used to capture videos from web sites as well as ones being played by media player and other players; this means that a video can be played in slow motion or with different brightness, etc. and part of it can be captured and then added into the original video with the other programs. What I would like to have is a free program that can be used to blend a background such as a photo into a video so that a person or character is placed against the background. Anyone know of such a program that is free?

Well i think the lastest window live movie maker in the windows 7 is good enough if you are not talking about being professional .

I have Windows 7 Home premium edition but I can't seem to find anything called windows live movie maker or even movie maker like I had with the Windows that I had on my last computer which had the system preceding VISTA. What I need is something that would be easy to use since I really don't have time to approach something like being professional. Thanks.

Windows Movie maker is not installed by default in Windows 7, so you will have to install it yourself. It is freely available and can be downloaded from Microsoft. It is a composite part of Windows Live Essentials, which is a suite of small programs including Photo Gallery, Mail, Writer and a couple of other small utilities. You can download Windows Movie Maker by itself, but you may as well put the whole Windows Live Essentials onto the computer.

It seems that you are quite a video editor to have all those video editing programs helping you. It looks like you are searching for a program that can put a video against a still background images, making the actor in the video acts in the still images. I don't think you can find one such advanced program for free though. I do know that one program can do this but it is not free and cost a few hundred dollars.
