How do you convince a teacher that you deserve to pass?

I am no a student right now, as well as a teacher. I am a law student and I am a teacher in accounting. As a student in Law, I did my part, I studied what was said to be the coverage, I did my best to earn a passing mark, and if (God forbid) my best wasn't good enough, then I'd accept it. I didn't pass the midterm in one of my major subject, but as our professor said, we still have a good chance. Now, I'm wondering what was my score in the finals. *chilling* As a teacher, my students used to call me "terror", or better yet, "terrorist" because they seem to be afraid of me all the time. Those who get to know me, became comfortable with me. They ask questions and they converse with me like we're in a classroom not in a torture room. Anyway, I'm wondering why some of the students don't pass my final exam when I asked them to formulate questions, then from those questions will be lifted their final exam. In toto (unless there's a mistake in grammar or sentence construction). I gave them enough time to study for the subject, but they all flanked. Final Exam is composed of oral (80%) and written(20%). The written would be those that they formulated. Only one of them passed the written exam.. As I've computed their grades, a couple of them passed though, but there are about 20% to 30% of them who didn't. I was wondering whether to post the grades (tentative) before it will be posted online with our grading system. Then if they'd have a chance to explain themselves. How are they going to convince me that they deserve to pass. Two of them even got ZERO! What the! Now I understand my college teachers' sentiments.Haha I gave them flying colors in their oral exam marks, but their written exam is way too low, that it cost some of them their grade. Final grade! hmmmm, this is one of the hardest part of teaching, giving final grades.haha! How would someone convince a teacher he/she deserves to pass? Or would you even try to convince your teacher?

I would not be the person that would try to convince a teacher that my performance on an exam was not reflective of my knowledge of the subject. It is my opinion that your students did not care enough to adequately prepare themselves for the exam and for that reason, I would not give them the opportunity to try to convince you that your exam was wrong and all of your students were right.

Some of them appealed asking for another shot. They've had several exams for different courses that day, and they want to make it up. So they'd want another exam. I gave them what they asked now, it's their last chance! :)

It shows in the class record, no need to convince.

If you were my teacher and I failed on the exam you gave me then I would ask you to give me another set of exams (sort of removal exam) so that I can prove to you that I can make my grades better. Students who get ZERO in exams , I guess are those who are not really interested with the subject. They are completely wasting their time and money.

I am a vocational school teacher, and my students are very poor. They don't like study hard, those who study hard go to high school to have further education. SO it is difficult for me to make all the students listen to my lesson carefully in class. My fianl mark is divided into two parts, usual performance and the final exam mark. The usual performance is about 40 to 50 percent of all the marks. If a student behaves well in class, but he is very poor, I can still give him or her high mark for the usual performance. I always tell my new students in my first class that I pay more attention to their usual performance. Well, you are also a teacher, and I believe you can pass your exam as a law student. Nice day!

Some of my students doesn't have the means, they were just able to obtain a scholarship that's why they're in school. I've really been pondering on whether or not they'd continue being a scholar (meaning give them the required grade) or just give them what they really got based on the computation.... Thanks for wishing me well on my law subjects. I was thrilled all the more.
