How do you shop?

There are a lot of ways that you can shop, and I am interested in the ways that you choose, and the reasons that you choose to shop in this way. The ways that I have heard of are: -Go to the shops and pick things in person to take home. -Pick things on the internet and reserve it in store. -Shop online and have the things delivered to your home. -Look online, but then go to the shops to pick up the item. I prefer to go to the shops in person if it is clothes, because this means that I am able to try them on, however if I am buying gifts for people then I like to order them on the internet because having them delivered is much easier than actually having to go and park at the shops and walk around them myself.

I go to the mall or I buy it on online sites. But I like to shop online more though, because I like what I see online best.

My favourite thing about shopping on the internet is that you can find a lot of things that you want. I have not yet found an item that I wanted that I have not been able to search for online and find at a reasonable price and I think that this is something that is fantastic. You would never be able to find such a large choice in any store, because the truth is that there just isn't the space to be able to store everything. On the internet because you can look at many different stores at once you are able to find more more value for your money.

Yes I know and it is actually fun. Yes and it is definitely much cheaper than in shops. In Stores you basically find the same items all the time or that everyone owns. I like my things to be unique and I like to create my own style. Value for our money is definitely important. :)

Whenever I want to shop, I prefer the old fashion way of going to the store/shop and buy all I needed personally. I shop online only when I find something I needed and is being offer cheaper online.

I think that the fact that you are able to buy things more cheaply online is something that attracts a lot of people to it. I know that I would never buy books anywhere other than the internet anymore because of the fact that the prices are so much better, and I would have to pay quite a lot if I were to buy things from the shops. It is good to be able to look at the prices from the different stores so you are always able to tell whether you are getting the best bargain or not and, if you're not, where you would have to go to do so.

Truly, shopping online has many advantages specially on pricing. But definitely there are items that I want to see and try first before I buy.

I love shopping online for many things. I like the fact that I'm able to do it from the comfort of my own home and at any time during the day or night if that is when I feel like shopping. However, as is true with everything, there are downfalls to shopping this way as well. So, when it comes to shopping for clothes that is something that I have to do in a store because I need to be able to feel the clothes and try them on as well.

Yes one of the things that I really like about shopping online is the fact that you don't have to leave your home to be able to do so. The other good thing is the fact that you're literally able to shop whenever you like. If you want to go shopping in the middle of the night then it is fine to do so, whereas if you didn't have an online opportunity to shop then you would have to wait until the morning because none of the shops were open at this time at night. I love the fact that I am more free to shop rather than having to do it at specific times.

I am interested shopping from directly from shop I not like online shopping. When I goes in shop find the good according to my choice and purchase it. In case of cloth check all the quality of cloth, price, size and then purchase.

I think that the only thing that is bad about online shopping is that you're not able to try things on before they get delivered to your house. One of the things that I have started doing is to make sure that I am shopping from somewhere that has free returns so that you can send things back if they don't fit. If I am ever in two minds about which size I need then I will always get a couple of sizes and will then be able to send the ones back that don't fit. It's better than only having one size and then it not fitting and you having nothing to wear.

Hi Gemma. actually I like to shop in person...I like to see it, touch it and feel it before I buy it.....I am not good at returning items thats why I on't order many items off line....
@GemmaR (8517)

Being able to touch the product and try it on to see whether it suits us is something that is good, and I don't think that there is ever anything on the internet that would be able to compare for this. One of the things that I like doing is to order lots of clothes as I would if I was in a shop, and will then send back anything that I didn't like. We have a courier who takes our parcels so the only thing that I would have to do is to wrap them back up and then give her a call and she would come and take the things back to the shop.

I prefer to shop in person and see the actual product. I believe it is wise to do that. You xcan check the quality and actual appearance. And you can infer the quality of the product for sell. But I will try to shop online though, for fast and convenient way of buying. Not to mention that I will buy it in a reputable site of course. Thanks

I think it's always good to see the product in person, because there is always the chance that it would be a little bit different to the way that it would appear in a photo, or you might find that you don't like the material even though it looked as though it would be something that you like on the internet. I do often opt for the internet shopping because of the fact that it is so easy though, and certainly if there is a book or a DVD that you want then it would make a lot of sense to order it because it doesn't matter what it looks like really.

although i get tired fast due to chronic fatigue, i love to out and go shopping for short shopping trips. i cannot do the marathon shopping trips that i used to. i find i get too tired. i do like to shop ebay as well, but i prefer going to the mall.
@GemmaR (8517)

It is horrible when you get tired easily, as this would mean that you're not able to go on long trips. I suppose that it makes sense for you to shop in one place rather than going round many shops to find the things that you want. I guess this is where the internet comes in handy, because it doesn't matter if you're tired while you're searching because you would be at home in comfort where you would be able to take a break whenever you wanted to. So the internet means that you're able to do much more than you would have done in the past.

Me, I definitely like to shop in person. I like walking into a physical store and looking around before I get whatever it is that I get. I might have looked at certain items online (even to find reviews) but I don't make my final decision unless I actually see/feel the item. I am a bargain hunter too - and often I can find better than internet deals (and avoid shipping costs) - so really I try to do most of purchases in a store. In the past couple years, I have gotten some things online (wow, I've finally jumped in the bandwagon) as there are some deals I probably wouldn't have gotten in a store, but honestly I still think shopping in store is more fun.

One of the things that I think is good about going shopping is that you're able to get hold of the things that you think are going to go well together because you would be able to try them on together. If you were ordering them on the internet then you would just have to guess and that is something that can be quite hard to do unless you're able to view the items side by side. But I still love to buy some things online, for example things that I will be wearing with my jeans because I know that anything can go with those.

I have tried buying stuff online but still I prefer to go shopping in malls. I like to see every detail of things that I want to buy. And also I like strolling for long hours.

I agree that a lot of the time you can't tell what clothes look like when you're on the internet. There have been a lot of times where I have ordered things thinking that I would love them when they arrived, but then I found that they just weren't as nice as I thought they were on the photo so I ended up sending them back which was a bit of a shame. But at the same time I can't always bring myself to go to the shops when it is so much easier to order things online and have them delivered to my door on a day of my choosing.

I try to go around as many shops as I can to be able to choose the things that I want to buy, but sometimes I don't have the time to be able to do this. If you do have the time to go around the shops and try the different prices, then this is usually the best thing that you could do because you're more likely to be able to get the best deal for yourself. But if you don't have the time then I think that the best thing that you could do would be to use the internet and see if you can find where the cheapest places are before you shop.

The best way for me is to make a list of things I need and check prices and take the sheepest one if I can't have it cheaper, than, I do have to wait, even if I do need it, does it mean I need it now? Or later? Well than I rather not stick around to not be tempted to buy it the same and than not have enough money for food. So this all in the way you manage your money, weather you have to buy food or clothe.
@GemmaR (8517)

I will use the internet to check the prices on my groceries and see where is the cheapest for me to buy certain things. Each week I will go to the supermarket that I find is the cheapest for the list of things that I need overall, because it wouldn't be good for me to go to different places as this would mean that I would be using too much fuel. Thinking about whether you really need things is also incredibly important, because if you waste your money then you're going to be short on the things that you actually need.

There are times that i ordered clothes and make-up online through my Aunt who has online shop and she delivered it after one day, and i can get a big discount from her. But most of the time i shopped with my husband in the mall where i can fit all the clothes he likes and choose the shoes that i want. It's much convenient and serve as bonding moments to us.
@GemmaR (8517)
23 Oct 12
It's good that you have somebody who you are able to order clothes from at a discount because this means that you are never without clothes if you find that you need some. It is a shame that not everybody is that lucky, because I would very much like to get lots of money off when I go shopping. It's always good to be able to try on the clothes that you're buying though as it means that you don't buy them when they're not going to fit. It is always a bit of a hassle if you buy something online and then have to send it back because you find that it doesn't fit.

I shop at our 2 big super markets here in Mexico city, about 2 times per month. I wait till i get the sales paper sin the mail before going to each one. I also shop at the local market on the street. There you can buy things in very small quanities.
@GemmaR (8517)
23 Oct 12
We get coupons in the mail every month for our supermarket, and one of the things that I make sure we do is that we plan our meals around the things that are on offer at the time. If we do this then we find that we are able to save a fair amount of money, and I think that this is something that is good if you don't really mind what you eat, because it means that you can pay much less for what you are buying. Money is very important at the moment and this means that you have to do your best to make sure that you're saving whenever possible.

oh .....samething i used to do ...go shop n pick things n order in online..
@GemmaR (8517)
23 Oct 12
So you do a bit of both then? I guess this is the best thing to do rather than always do the same type of thing. One of the good things about still going into physical shops is that you are able to pay money to your local economy rather than the head office of the company, and this means that the shops that you go into are much more likely to survive and not close down. I know that a lot of the shops are my high street are closing down now because of the recession, and it is a shame because I remember when there were a lot of shops that you could go to.

Before we go shopping we decide on what things we buy. Before we go shopping we make sure we are not hungry. And before we go shopping we need to have allotted specif budget on specific things. We do not bring extra cash when we go shopping because we will just be tempted to spend on things that we just want.
@GemmaR (8517)
23 Oct 12
I think that having a list ready is something that you should do, because if you don't do this then it would mean that you were spending a lot more money than you should do while you're out. Saying that you don't shop when you're hungry is another interesting point, because if you do this then you are much more likely to buy all of the things that look nice to eat and then you'll find that you never actually have the time to eat them before they go out of date, so sticking to the budget that you had planned certainly sounds as though it would be the best thing to do.

sometimes i like go to shopping on the internet , because it saves time , but on weekends , i prefer to go to shop in store, with my best friends forever, i feel it is great , and i like it , thank you for you sharing this discussion have a nice day

I went shopping with my sister in law a week and a half ago, and that was the first time that I had been able to do that for a long time because of the fact that not many of my friends live near me, and I have to travel for a while to get to where she lives. I loved it, and it reminded me that sometimes you just have to go shopping properly, in real life, with your friends because it is more of a social occasion than just being able to shop. It is also good to get the opinions of some other people at times as you will be able to tell what suits you a little better.

to buy clothes you obviously have to go to market, you cant buy clothes without trying it out but if you want to buy electronics i prefer Craigslist.
@GemmaR (8517)
23 Oct 12
I can buy clothes without trying them on from some shops as long as I know what they look like on a model that is pretty much my size. A lot of stores now make the effort to show different sizes of models so that you can order the clothes with a fair idea of what they're going to look like on you. I have never liked Craigslist because I have heard of a lot of stories from people who have tried to get things from there and they have had problems, so I just prefer to go into an electronics store and get things that way instead.
