Poverty is not an Hindrance to achieve everyone's Goal or dream in there life as long as we possess the attitude of self motivated and self discipline and determination to achieve towards our goal. I am a product of Notre Dame Organization which is called S.P.A or working student I was blessed and trained in that organization for four consecutive years I stand with my own just to finish my four year course, those sacrifice need to wake up at 3 in the morning just to have clean the specific assignment given to us after that need to prepare for office work at 8 in the morning until 12 noon. Then after office work need to prepare for my self for my class from 1 pm until 9 pm. Those are my routine every day for the period of time. I have so many things I have had learned not just I graduated with my course but the principles of being Punctual,Patient, self motivated, achieve goals with out the help of my parents but by the help of our almighty God, hardworking, being diligent, Humble at all times in order achieve my goals, faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and be submissive at all times. Now I really enjoy the blessings of those sacrifices I have done before. Now i can say that life is more easier because of those experience. i love being a working student i love those people who sacrifice in order to achieve there dreams in life in a nicer way . I love seeing people who struggled but in the end they won and have success in there life. No one can stop us towards our own progression.

Great topic.. Money doesnt get everything, doesnt solve or change every situation in life.. Goals and dreams make people shoot for the stars, push a little harder to accomplish what they have set out to do.. Living without for a long time does a couple things; you appreciate what you have, learn to how to live without, and get creative.. Its not always true but people that are broke come up with some pretty cool things just siting around the house.. Its out of need and not talent so its more likely to work...

A person relying or expecting help from others is doomed from the get go.. Controling anothers intentions can not and will not happen.. The only person that you can change is you.. A mother and or a father can teach a child right from wrong but does not mean the child will always listen.. Oh one other thing that I just thought of... Provery also teaches us patience.. That we can not always get everything we want instantly.. Even though the world is becoming instant this that and the other...

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Well yes u are absolutely correct, poverty was never a hindrance but people have themselves categorized it as an obstacle. I know it is no body's mistake to be born as a poor but that does not end your life and the motive of working hard to earn a living is always present. Poor people should work hard and make sure that they never rue their poverty levels and with their hard work and blessings of God can overcome this obstacle as well. What say?

When I was an undergraduate student I worked and went to school until 2007 when my mother-in-law had gotten sick. My mother-in-law needed constant care and my husband was working two part-time jobs so he can take care of the household bills. My mother-in-law had moved in with us and I had taken two courses on campus and 3 courses online so I could continue my schooling and still be able to take care of her. I would have worked every semester, but I felt that my mother-in-law needed me at the time. Sadly, she passed away in June 2007 and I could not find work so now I am attending an online graduate student working towards my second Master's Degree.

Hi, Poverty does a lot of things to hinder one to achieve one's goals, plans and aspirations for that matter. One may say it is not a hindrance in an absolute sense. You may do extra effort to circumvent its effects on the person quite opposite for those who are well-endowed with all the necessities of pursuing what one desires. The comparison is between a rich student and a poor one, all things being equal in terms of intelligence, diligence, discipline, physical attributes, time and place. Don't tell me that the poor one has all the advantage over the rich student for money can really do miracles when used wisely and properly. I am a working student too, once in my life and I can really tell how hard it is to surmount the hindrances that poverty does to my chosen path. Had I got what money can buy, I could have gone farther and better than I what I am now, which, admittedly, is far better off than what my parents were. I have to reiterate, money can do miracles, given the opportunities being equal, poverty sucks one down back to the depths of despair where it belongs.

no, i am not agree with you. poverty is root of all evil. It is the biggest demon which stops the people to achieve their goals. even the own people will leave, knowing that you are in lack. it will be difficult to survive at that time your motivation, your determination will not work.

Remember there is an opposition in all things. If we think like that always how can we survive in this life. We need temporal salvation. i testify to you that our promised blessings are beyond measure. Though the storm, clouds may gather, though the rains may pour down upon us, God will never leave us alone He is our great source, He will comfort us and sustain us and bring joy to our hearts as we walk uprightly and the commandments. there will be nothing in this world that can defeat us. fear not, be of good cheer. The future is as bright as your faith.

For me, it's really just a matter of attitude. I mean, one has to have a positive outlook. Plus a bit of hard work, too. I know this is easily said than done. It's hard to be optimistic when our stomachs are rumbling of hunger. But we should try our best not to consider whatever status of life we're in as hindrances. I'd rather we think of them as challenges :)

Wonderful story. I have known quite a lot of people who shares the same story as yours. And it's really amazing, inspiring & moving. It really proves that hard work pays off no matter what the circumstance is. I may not have experienced it first-hand but it has kept me to dream bigger and aim higher!

Now a days the rulers in many countries have relied on the coinage ' BPL' meaning below the poverty level and prescribes an income level which determines who are below and who are above the level. Socialistic attitude of the governments have been giving help in cash and kind to uplift them. The main purpose of such aid is to ensure an uniform status in the society. The difference between poor and rich is gradually narrowed down and allow all the citizens to enjoy equal rights and privileges of modern state. Out of these the industrious, laborious, diligent, workaholics will sign more in life than the others who will indulge in dull and lazy life or take to short cut criminal activities to make quick gain. Many illustrious people rose from the BPL status by dint of hard labour, study, maintaining disciplined life with high ambition. Many in the intellectual world also belonged to the BPL status and this is known to all. Poverty is not a curse , and the people born in that level do not carry any curse with them. They become cursed then and then only when they blame their fate, do nothing, do idle gossiping and depend upon doles from the govt or other organisations. Society have the bad luck to maintain such people and the onus remain on the others to find ways to change the mislaid course of life followed by the lazy lot.
