Dear friends Mylotters. In this discussion, I will talk about work. More than anything, I want to emphasize my "drama" to be still unemployed at the age of 37! In Italy, the country where I live, the problem of work is, unfortunately, a subject  of day. I turn on the TV or reading the newspapers, in recent times, I still see that the unemployment rate continues to rise! There are no assumptions, but continual dismissals of workers from companies that fail. I still have a little blame myself for being still unemployed at this age. In the years 2000 to 2003 I found a job enviable, I foolishly I made fire! Only now do I realize the gravity of the situation. maybe at the time I did not even realize the importance of having a steady job. I still do not see good prospects for my future. I can only hope that in the coming years, this crisis looming, go away! Remains the problem that, with every passing year, I grow old!

Unemployment is a horrible place to be. It can really mess with your head sometimes, remember to focus on your goal (getting a job) and make sure to always look on the bright side of life.

Well, focus on the objective of finding a job and try to be positive in life is what I'm trying to do. But right now, in my situation, it is not easy!

Oh. I feel for you there. I hope you could find a job. But have you applied for a lot of job already? How about considering having your own business or having a job online? There are a lot of work that you could do in odesk.com. Glad you already realized the worth of job. But I hope you could find one of your happiness in the future, having a job. :)

Well, thank you for your encouragement to me. In fact, is what I aim to find a steady job as soon as possible. Of course, that I seek work, but unfortunately until now, without no result!

I live in US and our job market is not the best either. I am the same age as you and cannot find work. I have a Master's Degree and every job I apply for keeps on telling me that I am over qualified and do not want to hire me. I am going to try to sell my crafts online and hope that will be bring in some money into the household. I am also looking into selling Avon. Just hang in there and you will find work.

There are million of people living your drama, many are younger, but also a lot of people are older than you, fourty, fifty and more! What I want to say is that you are not allone in your in your situation and looking for a job. In Spain, people live the same situation. Many people never thought that such a situation like the crisis we are living since 2007 and which is still getting worse, would ever overcome them. Men, over fourty and with children at home, lost their jobs. Without any income, without any financial help. All they try to do seem not to be enough. And no one knows when it will end. That's why many people emigrate to another country trying to find a job so they can help their family too. You can hope that in the coming years this crisis will go away and I am sure it will. We have to be patient, meanwhile we carry on fighting (looking for a job even going abroad if necessary and helping others whenever we can). I left Spain with my husband and two childre where I lived for 24 years, no one of us had a job. Now our situation changed and I am glad that we were able to change. I am sure that you will be able to change your situation too.

It's the same in my country. A lot of people are still unemployed, so most of them would go to bigger cities hoping to land a job. They would end up as beggars. Others with enough money, would just prefer to find a greener pasture in another country.

Why dont we think that time goes well but comes bad. Unemployment is getting harder day by day. Its a continuous pain I have suffered once upon time. I think you should think seriously. Search real job online and apply. Hope you will get one soon.
