Hair Oils and the Hair Growth?

People often use hair oils to have a long, healthy, thick and silky hair. What are the types of oil they use for this purpose? People have different preferences. Castor oil, Coconut oil, Amla Oil, Almond oil etc are some oils which are commonly used by the people for getting a better hair growth. We get these oils with various names being marketed by different companies with their brand names. How frequently these oils are used ? This I am asking because some people like to use these oils on daily basis while some are quite comfortable with using these oils every alternate day. Generally the hair oils used by most of them are either recommended by some of their friends or they have been in use in the family for along time. Perhaps Grand mothers of the family encourage or rather insist them to use these oils to have a beautiful hair growth. Are you really convinced that hair oil is a must for the growth of the hair? Have you given a thought how it works in enhancing the hair growth? Do you believe that your beautiful hair you have is just because of the hair oil you use? If your answer is affirmative one then I am sorry to say that you have got a misconception about the use of hair oil. Hair oils have no role in promoting the hair growth. The hair grows naturally without using anything. Hair oil has got no role in promoting the hair growth. The hair texture, growth and length are determined by the genes present in one’s body which one inherits them from the parents. In fact by using hair oils we are making our hair sticky and because of this we tend to attract dust from the surroundings thus making them dirty. To get rid of this dirt we need to shampoo our hair and shampooing our hair makes them weak as they loose their natural consistency. There is no evidence which has been proven medically that hair oils can improve the hair growth. It is just a belief and people are getting carried away with it. No dermatologist would recommend you to use any hair oil to promote your hair growth. Balanced diet together with required supplements will ensure the proper hair growth, Thus in conclusion what all I would like to say is that hair oils have no role in promoting the hair growth, so there is no point in spending so much of money after these products, Instead having a healthy and balanced diet would help us to have good hair growth! Please give your valuable opinion about this topic and oblige! Thanks!

I am using baby oil (I wonder if the oil comes from babies- lols) I use oil to my hair to avoid it from drying. I just rub a little amount of baby oil every after bath especially at the hair ends. I can say that applying hair doesn't means it helps to grow hair because my hair never becomes thick with it. But, my hair never had any split ends.

sids, Actually my kids ask me this question long time ago while we're buying groceries. I was looking for the cheapest brand of olive oil when my kids starts talking different kinds of oils and where those oil came from. And suddenly they starts laughing when they comes to "baby oil" So, does it means, baby oil comes from babies right?
