By fasting you actually can lose a lot of weight. What I mean by fasting is what the muslims were doing every fasting month. I actually did it myself by fasting not only in the fasting month but also on other months. And to my expectation it really does work and I am losing weight. Well of course I do not just fast but I also did some reqular exercises and play some sports when I am fasting. So why not give it a try by fasting to lose weight.

Yes, fasting can definitely make you lose weight but when you eat normal again, you will easily gain extra pounds. The reason behind this is that when you fast your body's metabolism slows down. So, even if you eat a normal meal you will get fat easily. It's not a good way to lose weight. It is not healthy. Eat the right kind of foods and do cardio exercises like bicycling. In that way you will be strengthening your immune system and every part of your body. When you do fasting you are doing a lot of damage to your body. Our bones need constant supply of calcium so that it wont break. Our nerves need vitamins and minerals to function well and send signals to our body to pump the muscles of our hear to deliver blood around the body, to help our digestive system to move to digest food and eliminate wastes, and a lot more. Our eyes need Vitamin A so that it could see clearly. Our brain needs glucose (sugar) and cholesterol to function well. Our blood needs iron and we need vitamin c to absorb the iron that we are taking. So, do you think it is still good to do fasting? People who often fast have dry skin, blurred vision, irritable, some actually are getting bald.

Everyone focuses more on general term losing weight... But they put more focus on specific terms fat loss or muscle loss... Losing weight can be due to fat loss or muscle loss.. If it is muscle lost then it is a big problem and if it is a fat loss then it is well and good.. So I think you should focus more on fat loss rather than weight loss.. Instead of doing fasting you can lower your meal, introduce more and more proteins, vitamins and minerals into your diet and take less fat and carbohydrates... If you are sportsperson then take good carbohydrates for energy but not too much... If you apply this diet plan then you will lose your weight that is fat loss not muscle loss...

yes! it is soooo true that people sometimes just focus on losing weight without caring and knowing if its fat or muscle... I also hearded that the diet with an excess of protein make you lose some pounds because in order to digerate the protein, you need lots of wather, so mainly you are dehydrated

Fasting is not a good diet plan. It may yield the desired result of weight loss, but it isn't good for you. When you put your body through starvation cycles, you essentially train it to hang on to what food that you do give it, so when you start eating again your body will be storing much more fat. Which would be counter-productive. Also, you would be losing muscle mass, and not getting enough nutrients which can cause all sorts of problems related to malnutrition. I would say you can fast for religious reasons on occasion, but fasting constantly in order to lose weight sounds dangerously like Anorexia Nervosa. A better diet plan would be to eat plenty, eat healthy, and exercise.

ok, i am on my losing weight plan now. but i eat regularly and normally. i just cut the amounts of my dinner and take less fat in. for myself, breakfast is necessary and lunch is full of nutrition. along with the control of diet, i do exercise like setting-up and tensile movement.i think it works obviously. after all, heathy is the most important thing, right?

I think fasting can really make us lose weight accompanied by exercise. I think, also that we must not forget hydration then. For without it, it may only lead to dehydration, which is detrimental to our body. My body have different components just like others, and so, it depends on the person, if he can manage to fast while exercising. The things that works for others may not work for me. To be sure, I may consult a doctor for further advice. Good luck. Thanks

Fasting would have the desired effect, but maybe not that healthy though. I mean, the body would be deprived of the nutrients it needs. I would rather go for what I usually call selective dieting - we still eat regularly but we do away with those foods that are known to make us, well, gain a lot of weight.

It's one of the best ways to lose weight. But fasting is a dangerous practice if you do it on a regular basis especially in your case when you do it all the time just as you mentioned. Your body does not get enough nutrients to sustain it's function. It could result in nutritional deficiencies. Your performance in whatever you do will not be at it's optimum. The body needs enough nutrients, vitamins, minerals, among other things for it to function properly and efficiently.

Hi friend, not every one lose their weight by fasting, some persons will gain extra weight by this kind of activities. We must avoid unwanted fasting which is not good for our health. Too much of fasting will give unwanted problems to you as well as air will filled in your stomach while you are skipping meals, it will increase your weight gradually.

I agree that fasting can help you lose weight. I do this 3 days a week, but it's very very important to see what you actually eat. If you eat lots of bread, potatoes and sweets you do nothing... But if you focus to make yor fasting days also healthy, you are one step closer to be healthy and lose some weight. I prefer to eat cereal and fruits in the first part of the day and vegetables and nuts in the second part. I also do ballet in the other days ;) so 3 days of healthy fasting and 3 or 4 days of sports give nice results.
