That's the motto around these parts. [said with a thick Texas drawl] I do love my city, even IF I'm a "Damned Yankee." And I'm sure you folks might've heard of some of the draws of this place. In the spring we have this big festival called SXSW (South by South-West). Mostly its a music scene, but now they have a film thing too. We also have a "Bat-fest" and we are the home of "Austin City Limits" on PBS. We have just finished the big ACL music fest in one of our parks. So, would it surprise you that we have a Facebook page for a guinea fowl? Now, let me explain just a tad. Downtown pretty much runs from Caesar Chavez St (1st street) to about 15th St. There's kind of a State Government/University zone between 15th and MLK Blvd (19th St) and then its UT until about 29th street. That's north/south, east/west its I-35 on the east to Guadalupe on the west with some creeping towards Lamar much further west (Whole Foods is on Lamar and 6th street.) Now, for most of that distance, Lady Bird Lake is only a half a block off 1st street (sorry, Caesar Chavez) until it hits Red River, then the lake takes a turn to the south and you have a little neighborhood in there. Recently, this land has become a BIG DEAL economically since it really is downtown, and bars, hotels and now condos are sprouting up. And here you find, all BUT downtown, Geraldine the Rainey Street Guinea Fowl. NOT A REFERRAL LINK!!! https://www.facebook.com/GeraldineTheRaineyStreetGuineaFowl?ref=stream Just goes to show ya, Austin really does work on its "weirdness". You guys have weird stuff where you live?

When i first moved to Sheboygan most stores closed at 5 o'clock on saturday and sunday! Now they don't and that is a good thing! We have alot of houses buildt behind others in some of the alleys. I just happen to live in one of those apartments. The beginning of August we have are annual "Brat Days". It is all suppose to be about brats but every year it is more of a drunk fest then anything else! We finally voted are drunk mayor out of office! Should of happened a long time before it did! The college I work at is not in Sheboygan. It is 12 miles from were I live. It is out in farm country! Corn fields and dairy farms! why it was buildt there is beyond me but we just had the colleges 150th anniversary! Why they called it Lakeland is beyond me,too! So you can say it is weird where I live to!
