Why children these days want to grow up fast?!

This always puzzles me. If I'll be given the chance to choose, I want to be a child again. No responsibilities, no obligations, no stress, nothing to worry about. A child can just get by the day without doing anything tedious. Everything's given to them readily. Everything provided. They don't worry what to eat and where to get money from to buy food. Life is simple for children. So, I'd often wonder how come many teenagers, nowadays, just want to grow up fast. They want freedom. They don't want to be bound by rules and instructions. I rather put up with restrictions than all these hassles of being an adult. Because as a grown up, you are totally responsible with everything that happens to you. And you will have to face whatever decisions you make. Children, they can just point fingers at and escape punishment. But, with adults, the consequences of their decisions are themselves the punishment! If I can just make a speech and tell these little ones the difference, I would. But, well, like what they say, nobody learns by words alone. It's only by experience.
Ever thought the same?

I agree with those what you have said but I'd rather choose to be an adult than of being a child. Child really doesn't have it's own freedom. Like what I have experience in my childhood days. Even if everything is provided, still my parents are restricting me to do the things that I want to do. but now, I can do whatever I want and I also got their trust and I feel that I am independent. I can stand on my own now but still knowing that my family will always be there for me o matter what. That is the feeling that I have right now.

Thanks for your insight, fatlex06. ^_^ Guess, that's your personality. You're a free-spirited person. Not that I wanna get stuck being a child. But, I guess, I just miss the life I used to have when I didn't have to make decisions, I didn't have to work, I didn't have to worry about anything at all. I was very restricted, too, when I was some years younger and was still under the care of my parents. But, I never felt I was strangled. They're seriously strict. Esp my father. But, maybe I was born that way. I did not complain and just complied. I miss that now that I am living independently and have all the freedom I have. I wish I were a child again. :)

A lot of children nowadays want to grow up fast simply because they want to be more independent and have freedom. :)

Thank you for your comment, toxic_lifestyle. Yes, I understand that. It's always about freedom and being independent. But, freedom and independence entail so much responsibilities and difficulties. Maybe they don't know about this because they're young. And they haven't experienced what it's like to have the freedom and independence they're sooo longing for. Guess, it's a matter of time and experience... Good day to you. ^_^

I have noticed this about a lot of children, and I think that the reason this is the case is because you see young children who have been on television who wear make up and like boys and things like that. Therefore the children in the real world think that this is the normal thing to do and then they try to copy them. I think that parents need to make sure that their children are progressing at a sensible pace, because childhood is there to be enjoyed rather than rushed like a lot of people seem to be doing recently.

Because kids of today are expose to many things and that is the reason why they want to grow fast.
They are curios what and how it is to become an adult.
They easily get bored of many childish things and wants to experience things that are looks exciting for them.

That's the funny thing about life. When you are young, you wish for fun to pass by quickly and would always look forward to you being an adult. And when you finally become and adult, you can't help but reminisce on the past and would strongly have a desire to be young again because your missing the carefree life you once had when you were a child. Ironic... (^.^)
