Last month I applied for medical health card and got approved. I already paid the certain amount for the whole year so that I have no problem of paying hospital bills if ever i get sick like what happened two months ago were I got hospitalized due to flu and fever which cost us a lot of money. Now I am waiting for my medical health card and hoping i can receive it with in this week. My husband emailed the health card company and were waiting for their reply. Have a good night!

Hi, I always renew my health card as I know that even though it is kind of hard to pay almost three thousand pesos for this monthly (as I did enroll my parents as well), they can be really helpful when we got sick. Like when we had to rushed my father to the hospital and was brought to the emergency room. I didn't feel so much stress because he has health card already. I think that you the premium can be lesser if it is a corporate account, maybe you can ask your husband if he can also enroll you as well. Some people do not really want to apply for a health card because they say it is not worth, as usually, they pay for the whole year and was not even use the card for even once, just for the annual physical examinations. But actually, you can actually maximize the use of it. For this year, I have already used it to go to the dentist and have my first OP for the year. I also went to a clinic for warts cauterization as I noticed few ones near my eyes and have them removed. This was also covered by my health card. By the way, it took about two months before our health card was given to us but before that, I have already used its service. I just tell the clinic staff to call my health card customer care for verification of membership.

For this year, it is cocolife. My parents' health care provider is the same as mine as I enrolled them as my dependent in our office. Under what provider you enrolled?

I'm all for health cards and health insurance, definitely something that we should invest on. We should really maximize its use, plus in anticipation of actually getting sick (knock on wood) at least we wouldn't have to pay the bills in full, at least we have some sort of support. For me it's a big difference even if it's just slashing half of your medical bill.

Health card is indeed a big help to all of us, belen . When i had my Total abdominal histerectomy at St.Luke's about a decade ago, i only paid for the blood screening, because i was give a blood transfusion also. My health card courtesy of my husband's company , since i was not employed then, paid for it. I always have those laboratory exams too courtesy of my health card ever since & until now. Last May, i had an operation again , and our company's health card paid for it too. I can say that it's really worth it to have a health card. I hope you will receive it soon.

I agree with you health card is really a big help, my husband underwent surgery last December in Makati Med and all his hospital bills was covered by his health card and we only paid 100 pesos ($2.30) for his medical certificate. I am hoping to receive my health card this week so that I can use it for my semi-annual medical examination.

yeah, i also use my health card for my regular laboratory examinations to see if my cholesterol and every thing in me is okay. Although, you have to feign to the accredited doctor that you are feeling unwell so he would refer you to have various laboratory exams to discover what's wrong. Health companies will not just allow you to have a regular check up . You have to feel something is unwell with you.

Your right! Most of the health card company needs to know if you have health problem first before they can give a request form for their accredited doctors for medical check-up unless it's emergency.

It's good that health card can make us save a lot of money, here in my country , most people have health card , too. Each year we pay not much money for the card, but if a person has serious illness go goes to hospital, he will save a lot of money .

That's a wise decision and I'm one with you. Hospital bills and office visits are so expensive nowadays. We need extra money to shoulder those unexpected expenses. That's why, my wife is also considering getting one for our parents for we are the ones who shoulders their hospital expenses when they got sick. Life and Retirement, insurance is also on the line for us. Good luck and I admire people like you. Thanks
