Not at all, in some aspect we can say that we are left behind. Not all latest technologies our country doesn't have. Some gadgets was discovered by some of our countrymen but was patented in other counties

That's a sad fact, indeed. The way our talented scientists/inventors could not be supported by our government or the worse, the government refuse to support them. I hope this can be corrected somehow.

Yes, we're so far behind if we are talking about technology advancement. We lack money to go in highly advance R and R. Our R and R budget here is just a miniscule of even our neighbors' budget. We even lack heavy industries here, all our industry here are just assembly jobs. We can't even produce our own car here much so of cellphones and computers. Even our best dollar earners is not coming from our factories but from our OFWs.

Uhhh,, :D We always buy 2nd hands from foreign countries. I mean, lately the news says Pres. Aquino and staff negotiating about buying 2nd hand helicopters, ships, military gadgets and etc. Government itself shows that we buy what we see first from other countries, and sad to say our Govt considers on buying used ones. ..

I agree that we're not exactly the most gadget country in the world -that's Japan. And yes, most of our materials we buy areeither2nd hand r a less costly version of what is the latest model. That's because we can't simply manufacture them out of thin air and we cannot afford the latest. But when ti comes to cellphone or personal gadget, many people already have the latest Iphone, Ipad and so on. In addition, our inventions are hardly publicized. Many Filipino investors sell their machines and ideas to foreign brands because they have no market here. Funding is always low and sometimes goes to a few people.

I think so for we belong in a Third World country. It means that we are less fortunate country and still on the process of improving. Mostly, our gadgets are imported, that is one sign of us that we are not much more advanced then those who manufactured those gadgets.
