I know sometimes life can get in the way of living... but do you set goals and make sure you take the steps to make them go to life? In the past year and half i have been setting goals and taking the steps to make sure they come to life. watching that happen is amazing. I am doing my best to stay focus and not allow every day life to get in the way! What goals have you set that you followed throug on?

Yes!! I think part of having a fulfilled life is having goals, even if you're internally motivated, because if you have nothing in the future planned to look forward to, it's easy to get lulled into mediocrity or to slack off - or even get sad, depressed, and unsatisfied. That makes it easier to be negative and a downer around others, which is not healthy for anybody. I always tell my fellow active moms and other members of my running/fitness groups that the best thing they can do is sign up for something so they have a goal. It is easier to keep moving forward if you have that race or event. It also is a great idea to make a plan, whether that's a big collage with your goals mapped out in pictures, a corkboard with various words pinned on it, a puzzle your kids help you make, a list in your phone or on your computer, whatever you use - it's important to have a well marked path of 'how to get there'. I have definitely met quite a few goals, some of them even on accident lol. I believe almost anything is possible but I don't always plan for the possibility becoming a reality - ie the Boston thing lol.

oh stop it! you can Rock that Boston thing!!!! and you need to set that goal and reach it. But your are so right. We need to keep motiviated and focused on goals. We need to always be reaching and striving for something. It will keep us grounded and focused. It will allow us to be excited and alway have something to look forward too. like i don't know... Boston!! LOL

I wasn't kidding... I found out later that some people make all their plans and accommodations and such and then they don't meet their goal. I usually don't do all the legwork that goes along with things until AFTER I know I made it lol. My goals going forward - to rock Vegas (in two weeks) - to PR at the turkey trot (anything under 23 is a PR lol) and then my plan is to run a 3:30 at Boston. I'm training for a 3:25 but if they don't have pace teams there, I think it's going to be hard for me, at least over the first half. Aside from that, just to live up to my expectations for myself at the rest of my relays and to enjoy my next ultra (and maybe run it a little faster).

I set goals but whenever it unachievable I dont get depress like some people , I juts move on and set another . I am currently now settings come small goals and I spend a lot of time trying to make them come through in a certain time and I hope they do at my desire time . I am not alone in my goals so we never let each other forget , we always have it in the back of our mind even when we seems like we forgot . I have set a lot of goals and one was to get m degree , I did that and I will continue to follow up it until I am fully satisfied with it and then I can close that chapter and begin a new one.

I have started a goal to put Atleast $500 away in savings every month. So far it's working out nicely.

I think that it is very important to be able to set goals in your life, because at the end of the day you always need something that you are able to work towards. I know that at the moment one of the things that I am trying to do is to save up money to be able to afford a flat, and because of that I am very motivated to get my work done because I know that if I do it I am taking steps towards the things that I have to do in order to reach my goal. Life would be very dull if you didn't have a goal to work towards.

Life does have some substance if one has something to work towards. I know, for a lot of us, it is easier said than done. I know this personally as I cannot concentrate on any goals right now. There is too much stuff happening, and it is coming from multiple directions. The simplest thing that I wanted for myself lately is a little bit of time to myself, but I have learned that it is not possible, without some distraction interfering. Also, because I have found myself in such a massive hole, and my primary goal is to get out of it, however I can. Depression seems to overwhelm any positive thoughts, or forward progress.

I have to set goals, otherwise I won't have anything to achieve. I believe in setting goals because its important to know what you are shooting for, goals can be anything from a list of what needs to be done to a financial goal. Fail to plan, plan to fail. Life does get in the way but life can be your goal, each day is a new day to get closer to your goal. I usually set goals that I can achieve for three months, that way I feel like I get more done in a shorter period of time.

I want to have a business and expand it eventually for it is really my passion to have one. Not to mention the effort and money to use. i want to stick to this goals and have the detailed plan as soon as I have the chance to sit down and have my wife to assist me in the brainstorming. Also, I need to have a baby soon since I not getting any younger anymore, I need someone to care. Good luck to all of us. Thanks.
