Spinal anesthesia lead to chronc headache?

My brother going to undergoing for knee surgery.Doctors suggest to do it under spinal anesthesia.But i have heard that it can caused a long term headache.Is it true.Do any one have experience of spinal anesthesia.If so what do you think.
