I'm a huge fan of homemade cookies or even the pre-packaged cookie dough that you just put on a cookie sheet and bake. A few times this week I've had the Pillsbury holiday sugar cookies that have little ghosts on them. I absolutely love those cookies and I usually only make a few at a time in my toaster oven because I only like eating these cookies hot and gooey.
Tonight I kind of want something a little different but I don't have anything in the fridge. I love oatmeal cookies and lately my dad has been buying the chocolate chip oatmeal kind which are yummy.
But what I'd really like are some homemade oatmeal cookies. I love oatmeal cookies but I hate raisins so I like making these cookies at home so I can leave out raisins. I think I have all the ingredients. We have oatmeal in the pantry but I think it's oatmeal that cooks in a minute and I'm not sure I could use that to bake the cookies. Any ideas?

My grandfather makes the best oatmeal cookies. He often puts raisins in them. Now I'm wanting to have some of those.
I've only had those pilsbury cookies in a pinch and not too often. I like them though but just dont' bake often.
Perhaps you can make some peanut butter cookies.

I love oatmeal cookies but I like to make them myself so I can leave out the raisins. I've been having the pillsbury holiday ones lately but I'm really craving some warm oatmeal cookies.
Lol I'm weird when it comes to cookies, i love them yet I'm so picky about what I like. I haven't had peanut butter cookies in a while, I don't really like peanut butter, but maybe I'll have to try them again and see if I like them better now.

You are like me when you say "try them again and see if I like them". I am not a big fan of peanut butter either but I did enjoy the last peanut butter cookies I had because they were pretty sweet. If they are not sweet then I don't like them.

I haven't had one in forever but I think I might like them if they were sweet and didn't have such a strong peanut butter flavor. But I don't think I'm ready to make them yet. I'd hate to go through the whole process of making cookies only to not like the ones I made lol

Im not sure how to cook oatmeal cookies at all. I dont like oatmeal so i dont make them or eat oatmeal. I only make sugar cookies and chocolate chip cookies and i do make them homemade but i would rather just buy the cookie dough and do it that way. I do like those holiday cookies too like you said they are so yummy and i do the same thing as you do i put it about three in the toaster oven which is enough for me at night for a snack and there still hot when i eat them and so delicious its better than having to heat up the entire oven to cook three cookies.

Oatmeal cookies are pretty simple to make. I guess it would be a similar process to making chocolate chip cookies where you mix all the ingredients together and then scoop the dough out onto the cookie sheet. I like to make homemade sugar cookies but it's such a long process and I usually only do it around the holidays.
I love the holiday cookies though. My mom bought me two packages a few weeks ago because sometimes we have a hard time finding them. It's so easy to make them but I kind of want something different. I'll probably just end up making a few of the holiday cookies tonight because I'm not really in the mood to make cookies myself lol.

I make them every year and the past few years I've even gotten my boyfriend in on helping!! Lol it's so funny to watch him try and decorate cookies, it's almost like he turns into a little kid again.
I love making them and I love eating them. But it's literally an all day thing to make them. I make the dough the night before and I usually double the recipe because sometimes we give cookies away to people or if we do Christmas eve at our house we'll put out cookies. So rolling out all that dough, cutting out the cookies, and decorating them becomes quite a process. Sometimes I lose my patience and I'll do half the dough one day and then a few days later go back and tackle the rest.

Sugar cookies are a must for Christmas but you are right the process is quite long! unless you've got the spare time to do it then best to pick other cookies to make.

Don't know about that, but what I do is mix up a double batch of my favs *chocolate chip) and the make mounds as if I were going to bake them...but put them on a cookie sheet. Put the cookie sheet in the FREEZER until the mounds are frozen hard. Then...put them in a freezer bag and then in the freezer. When I want some homemade fresh cookies... I take out 5-8 and bake them (frozen) in my toaster oven. They turn out great!
Plus..this way... I won't over eat them! I'd eat them all day long if there were there, but this way... I get my "fix" and still control the weight!
You could do this with any "mound" cookie...peanut butter, or spice. Not sure about the oatmeal as oatmeal is dry and might not freeze right. Or..make some sugar cook dough, roll it out, cut them out, and then put them on the cookie sheet and freeze them, then bag them up. Then bake when ready!
