Duke must have an elterior motive for wanting to work at the Haunted Star

He probably has some kind of scheme to get Luke out of the picture and it involves Lulu or something and thus he wants to work at the Haunted Star. Luke must know that Duke doesn't need the job, so he needs to be very careful about Duke working there.

Probably needs the appearance of having a job to satisfy everyone. And Lulu..what a prime target of stupidity for him to easily get a job with!

Well she did say to Luke the old saying, "keep your friends close and your enemies closer." So Lulu thinks she can keep an eye on Duke if he is working there.
