United States
October 25, 2012 6:48pm CST
I have been filling out applications daily from all over my town. I even went and got job applications from every store in one mall near my house and i never get a call back nothing. I haven't had an interview all yr and i've been handing out job apps every week? WhatI would like to know is why you think I haven't gotten a call back an email or anything on my applications and how can i get a call back on them or an interview? I have even called the places back where i got the applications or have gone to them places and i get the same thing every time. we are not hiring now or ill take your name and number and call you or we will hold your application for 6 months or a yr and i never hear back ever.

Sometimes it's a good idea to call back to places where you submit applications to! This can be very helpful and show how interested you are in a job somewhere.

Do not count on a call back or letter in a world where there is a big lack of jobs and many people respond on the same job! Only this will already cost a lot of time and money, which is probably not there for most companies/shops, etc. Why you never get an answer I don't know. Might be the way your letters look like, might be you are too old, might be you are too educated for the job, might be you are not qualified enough, etc etc. If you want a job you have to be able to sell yourself. This means go out and go over there. Call back or better go back yourself, inform if they did receive your letter, if they already made up their mind, etc. Show them you have enough self esteem, you are willing to work, you have a good reason to work, you are willing to learn, etc. I think you are way too passive if it comes to that and with so much competition you have to active! Also look a bit further as only your own area/town.

try to be active and be patient, especially if the unemployment rate in your area is high. i have found out though that because some companies receive lots of letters for any one open vacancy, calling back to ask for the status of your application might never be a positive way to get a job. but having a skill no employer can resist can put you in a position in no time.

Calling back does help where I live esp. if many people apply to the same job and with many I mean hundreds of! If you believe for sure they will read all those letters you are wrong. I did this job long enough so is my son in law now. Nobody will find it weird, strange or annoying. Over here it's a sign you are really willing to work, are interested, and you also need to show you care about the company by knowing what they are doing. It is exactly like my granny always said: the brutal/cheeky ones own the world! Which mostly men are not women. Besides of selling yourself also bluffing helps a lot. This is something mostly men do and also why they have a higher income, a better carreer, more promotion! There are plenty of books written about that and how to handle. I am sure more info about that can be found on the internet as well.

It sounds as though you're doing all the right things in looking for and chasing up applications, but if the places you're trying aren't hiring at the moment, there's not a lot you can do..Having been in your situation,I can sympathize..It's frustrating not to hear any responses coming back as to your progress..But keep at it-something will come along! If you don't mind the idea of being on your feet all day in a shop, you could maybe try Bars,Hotels or Restaurants in your area too..It could keep you going on a part time basis until something comes along..

You have still try to apply for a job by yourself, but if it is possible, ask someone to view your materials. To apply for a job, you should know what are your strong points and what are required for a job. To get a job, you should present that you have the quality that the job needed. Furthermore, you may need to ask your friends and your family members for some help, if they can tell their copanies' HR for you, you may have more chances to get interviews from their companies. After several interview practice, you will get out the skill which could help you get a job. Keep a try!

Getting a job is something that is much harder at the moment than it might have been in the past. One of the reasons for this is because the job market is suffering in the recession and this means that there just aren't enough jobs to go around. In order to be able to get a job, one of the things that you have to be able to do is to stand out from the other people who are applying for that same job. If you do this then you would have more of a chance then you would if you had just remained in the middle of a lot of people.

Why are you experiencing such things? Have you not performed well college? I mean, maybe there is something wrong with your credentials....I think, sorry to say this but I think you have low grades which your future employer is afraid to hire you...because it is actually a basis on how you will perform in their company.

I am so sorry about that. Why not try looking for jobs online? I have also suggested one member here to try creating an account at odesk. You can find a lot of jobs there matched with your skills.

Sorry to hear you are having a hard time finding work. Have you tried temp. services? SOmetimes they are good to find you something. At least you can work at someplace while you find a real good job. Good luck to you there.

there are many reasons: 1. you're resume is not interesting 2. you put a picture that is not decent 3. your qualifications does not meet their need my suggestions are: 1. make your resume comprehensive 2. do not put a picture, or put a picture with white background 3. do not apply for jobs that you already see you are not qualified 4. since you are using the net, register in jobstreet or any other jobsites.

Keep on applying anyway. Don't give up. Use your resources. Search the internet. Keep looking for jobs. Apply the Law of attraction. Even if you are failing right now in looking for a job, stay positive. Use your gifts. Look for a job that you love to do.
