There is this disease called celiac which damages the lining of the small intestine and prevents it from absorbing parts of food that are important for staying healthy. According to this study, the damage is due to eating gluten which is found in wheat, barley, rye, and possibly oats. In all the information which I googled, it always says "and possibly oats." So does eating oatmeal lead to celiac? A lot of people eat oatmeal everyday because they heard that it is healthy. Please share what you know about this topic.

I would say that oatmeal is good for me. My husband too loves to eat that in the morning. We accompany this with fresh milk. Oatmeal really works for us without any complaint though. But if there are researches and would-be medical advice that can cause disease rather than prevention, we would stop the habit of eating our favorite oatmeal. I think, celiac can be in-born and can be treated by prompt medical attention. Thanks

This is the first time I have heard of it. I do eat oats but not regularly because I also get tired of the taste. But whenever I get constipated, I can always rely on good old oats to help me get rid of it. Other than that, that's all I can personally say about oatmeal. But thanks for the info, that is definitely something that I have to remember to ask our doctor on our next appointment.
