do you eat the fat in your pork chop?

I know of many people who eat everything in their pork. Whether it's "lechon" or roasted pig or "humba" or however pork is cooked they clean up everything. I find it so amazing to watch people do that because I grew up watching my mother remove or cut out the fat in the pork when she ate. We also did likewise and until now, I scrape off any fat attached to the meat. Do you do that too? Or, are you like many people who love the taste of fat while eating their pork dish.

It's a little bit odd but I am really not a fan of lechon. My kids and my husband's relatives would be chowing down on them and you wouldn't see me anywhere near it. But with fried pork chops, if the fat is cooked just the right way, I could be surely eating with my hands and dipping it in vinegar with garlic and salt. YUMMY!

growing up, i didn't like lechon either. i learned to like it in recent years. but i really love lechon paksiw and lechon kawali! yum!

actually, i also took out the fat and the skin when i was young and always got teased about it by my siblings. i learned to eat the fat when it's crispy like in pork chop and lechon kawali in recent years when i realized how tasty it was. :) but i still don't eat the skin, however it's cooked.

I never liked eating the fat in meat. porchops arte so grewasy to begin witn and add ing fat to thr meal is noc my cup pf tea. I would rather not eat the fat fromy my porkchop.

It depends, there are times when the fat just tastes good and there are times it's worth skipping. I know that I would normally try it out first, but I have no problem consuming everything as long as it's cook well and again, tastes good. You have just made me hungry again my dear friend. Now I'm longing for pork barbecue or crunchy fried pork.

When we have pork chops at home I always eat the fat,in my opinion the fat is the best part of a pork chop.Though my mum never eats the fat because she doesn't like it as much as I do and thinks it's really unhealthy.So whenever we have pork chops I always eat my fat and my mums.Though I do realise how unhealthy the fat is but I think the taste is well worth the risk to my health.I also eat the fat from other types of meat such as gammon and when I eat the fat I always eat the fat last as its my favourite part.

That would be a no-no for me. With the current situation I have right now where my doctor advises me to minimize the intake of fat and unnecessary cholesterol due to my current state - I have this kind of thing where my blood pressure is really high and that worries me. Though I love meat, I will just remove those fat. And that I still enjoy the meal without sacrificing my health. Thanks

I love pork fat. In fact, I craved for that when I had to have a fat free diet for months while I had my chemo. After the chemo ended, I bought for a while some pork fat to fry them and eat them with bread.

When I do eat pork chops; I will not eat the fat.. Even if it does tastes good I can not stomach it, eating pure fat.. Just doesnt sound right.. For a fact I do not eat the fat the is clearly fat on any type of meat.. Its unhealthy, not good for the heart, I have heart disease in my family..

I don't like to eat fat. I've heard that fat gives risk to our body and its so dangerous. Wa ha ha I do not want to die early that is why I do not want to eat fat.

I like it sometimes.. especially if the pork chop is cooked and seasoned well.. the fat tastes good too.. But not so much since it tastes really weird later on. Just a thin slice maybe..

From the time i learned to eat pork, i've never touched the fat part. I don't like how oily they are. I only eat lean meat.

Well I like to eat the fat of pork chop when it was the fried one especially if its skin is so crispy and tasty. But I dont like eating fat which looks like not fully cooked or well done. I laso love fat of pork chop in sinigang.

I do eat them when I was in younger age. But now, I need to health conscious. We can never tell the fat embolus will be accumulated in our veins. It might result to stroke eventually.

Hi Cutie18f, yes my family does the same. My mother taught me to remove all the fats from the meat as it contains high cholesterol and it is unhealthy. Hence, whenever we buy meat from the supermarket, we will surely remove and clean up all the fats when we reached home before storing it into the fridge, ready to use for cooking later. This is part of health concern, and it is healthier to eat this way. However, i know some friends of mine really love the fats of the meat, and they really must have them not removed. Hahaha..

Yeah, I do love eating the fat. Also I gobble up the skin of the chops even though it is hard to chew on. I know that it is bad for my health and can raise the levels of cholesterol, but I really do love eating them. But of course, I do so moderately. At times I do eat them up but at certain times I don't.

Usually if it is a little of fat then I don't mind to eat it with the pork.. that might seem odd but it gives the pork a little moisture... But I don't always eat it sometimes I'll take it off.
