I do. And when I get started it is hard for me to stop because sometimes they are everywhere. My pets did not have these blood-suckers before so they must have come from the neighbors' pets which are just a fence away from my pet dogs. I would even crunch or squeeze these ticks with my own hands. Is that gross? Do you do this also? I wonder.

I don't do such thing. It is my wife who search the nasty creatures in our dog's coat. She does squeeze the ticks or fleas with her own hands, then she throws them in the toilet and flush the water.
I don't think it's gross, I would do the same if I could see them. Unfortunately my glasses are not enough to see those tiny beasts.

I'm a bit squeamish about blood squirting, even if it just comes from ticks. I don't even step on those that are too bloated. What I usually do is put them in a pot of boiling water or sometimes torch them. Besides, I was told that these ticks might carry some germs or something so I refrain from even touching them :)
