I love Stephen King and have read most of his books. I collect the hardback copies of them and hope to one day have a library of all his books in hard copy. My favorite? There are several...I really liked "Thinner", anyone read that one?

I haven't read all his books but my favorite one of his is The Stand. It was truly a masterpiece. I've always thought that if he wanted to retire from writing and finish his career with his greatest work ever, that one would be it.

"The Stand", wonderful reading! I don't know that I can seriously just choose only one book, although I tried. I really love his books and have read so many! As I mentioned, I really like 'Thinner', it's pretty good with a great twist at the end. 'Needful Things' is another good one. Very eerie at parts but full of surprises! Thank you for responding. What was your favorite part in "The Stand"?

I don't know. I don't really have a favorite part. It's something I never give any thought to. I read the book probably 15+ years ago. I just liked the whole story.

My favorite is either The Stand ( a wonderfully dark morality tale) or IT ( a marvelous paean to childhood). Not that big a fan of his newer stuff.

I haven't read Stephen King since i was in my teens, but I do remeber reading the following three and finding them very good. Christine.... saw the film as well about the car Carrie.... saw the film as well Cujo.... about the dog.... again saw the film. I would really like to read his novel with the number title but can't remeber what the numbers are

I've read, and seen, all of those! Have them in my collection as well. Is the novel you are talking about: 11/22/63? I haven't read that one either. That's the one about a time traveler that tries to prevent the assassination of President Kennedy. Looks to be a good read! I will have to get it and let you know how it is!

My favorite would still be "Misery". There's just something about intimate claustrophobic horror that rattles me and delights me all at the same time. And Annie is hella scary. Scarier than The Man in Black, I'll say.

First, I'd like to tell you that the idea of creating a Stephen King library is great. All of his work in one place sounds really fantastic. I have read most of his books, including "Thinner", it's really creepy and worth reading over and over again. Although in the last years King kind of abandoned the horror and accented on other serious stuff with more food for thought, I can say that his classics "Salem's Lot" and "It" are among my favorites, as well as "Colorado Kid" and "Hearts in Atlantis", and... well, almost all I have read :)...

I have read alot of his books but one that really sticks in my mind is The Langoliers. It's one of his shorter stories but it really is amazing I think and I certainly recommend it!
