earning in Second Life

Anyone here heard of Second Life, I have a blogger friend who earn from this kind of earning but I had no idea about it and that blogger friend is too busy to explained it, and Im hoping that mylotters here already encountered it and shared their experience

all i know from secondlife dot com is just like a game.. a simulation game. i don't know if it can be source to earn too..
but just now i browse it and they say that the currency in the game called Linden Dollars can be exchanged to real money.. i don't know the detailed process but i think you can try it .. i also wanna try it :) hope a good luck.

I've heard about second life about two years ago and I did try to install it in my PC. Unfortunately I have to uninstall it and cancel my account because it messes up my computer and it rendered my processor to function so slow. So I never really get to experience it in full.

do we need to download the program and install it first in our computer in order to play it ? i mean, the game can't be played online ?
