I need a flavorful pizza crust!

So I finally realized if I use my bread machine to make pizza dough it does great. However...it was not very elastic to form into the crust, and I discovered (in the fabric store!) that if I add an egg...it will create the elasticity. I add and egg. and YES! It makes it just perfect for spreading it out into a crust.
Now...my problem is...flavor. The crust is baked really well, but there is no flavor!! I like a thin crust but want some flavor. As is, it holds up well, rolls out well, bakes well (okay, it could be a little browner, but I'll deal with that later!)
So...any thoughts as to how to give the dough/crust some flavor? I can't use garlic so don't mention that. I know about(but have not done) rolling some cheese into the outer crust. The dough recipe calls for 1/2 tsp of sugar and I put that in, but still no flavor. I know I can brush the crust with oil and then sprinkle parmeasen cheese on it...but I think that will only bake ONTO the crust, not flavor it.
Anyone have any ideas or links to recipes or someplace where I can get some flavor into the crust??? Off top of my head..maybe a buttery flavor? I can't quite think of a name for it, but when I buy pizza at a resturant...there is some kind of flavor in that crust.

I've made my own pizza before and I really enjoy it. I do not generally flavor my crusts however I've had pizza with flavored crust before. What people usually do is when the pizza is either done or almost done add butter and parmeasen. I've also seen people use cajun spices. Also I like to use olive oil when cooking pizza crust. Another way to add extra flavor and probably extra fat would be adding more oil. It kinda gives the crust a take out flavor lol. Also try a using semolina flour sometime if you like crispy crust.

This recipe for my bread machine doesn't call for oil. It doesn't even call for an egg, but someone mentioned that they put one in theirs for elasticity and I tried it and that worked...but still nothing on the flavor. It doesn't call for oil of any kind...but maybe if I just brush a certain kind of oil on the crust when I bake it might help...or butter with Parm cheese...Thanks for the options. The crust as is is the perfect crispness...just "cardboard" flavor!

Well, this is totally natural..nothing but flour, sugar, salt, water and yeast. I make it in my bread machine. THe bottom of the crust not having much flavor (or any I have to admit!) isn't a problem as I have good sauce and toppings, but the outer edge of the crust that often is eaten plain...is like just eating soft cardboard! There is where I want the flavor!

Well, you shot me down right off the bat because my first thought was the dreaded garlic.
Still, your idea of parmesan cheese might work quite well. Now personally I don't like parmesan cheese but one day I noticed that this one pizza shop that I bought pizza from brushed there crust with butter and sprinkled the cheese on it. I had always thought their crust tasted better than anyone else and now I knew the reason why. If you don't think that would do it you could butter it and sprinkle it before you bake it. That might help with the browning too.
