Thawing Gelatin

How long does it take to defrost gelatin? I bought a five pound gummy bear off of Amazon recently and I cut it into sizeable pieces for a party during Halloween. (It's really difficult to cut a gummy bear of that size.. trust me.) So I put the pieces in a plastic bag and put them in the refrigerator for the weekend, but I only checked it today and the pieces are rock hard. Does anyone know how long it will take for it to be back to its chewy state?
