Good afternoon...
How's everyone...
My boss called me so I immediately came over since her office was juts few steps from my place, since I can clearly hear her voice calling my name. She was looking for something that seems to be nowhere to found.I asked what it was.She asked for help in finding her calculator.Telling that someone might use it and don't returned.
Initially I was about to go out her office to look for it somewhere else, when her calculator was caught by my eyes.It was just in front of her lying on her table.
I pointed it to her and instantly we laughed out loud. Some got curious since we really laugh so loud so I told it to them and they laugh too.
Do have same experience wherein you are finding/looking for something that is actually just in front of you?

I had that happen to me on saturday. I couldnt find the salt shaker. i looked everywhere. After 1/2 hours, I sat down at kitchen table- there it was. Right next to my plate. I felt so darn dumb. Have a great day there.

I bet you put it next to where you were going to set your plate before you dished it out, I've done that before. Trying to save myself the trouble of getting up to get it, but then ending up getting up anyway because I forgot about it.

Oh yeah, sometimes the more we try and keep on looking for something we thought we lost or misplace, the more we can't find it.Then when we pause for a while, sit to take rest, suddenly we will see things that we are actually looking for.

A home I try to have a place for my things so as to guide me where to look for them when needed. I don't know if it had some effect actually but since i had undergone a major operation I noticed that i seem to be forgetful of things most of the time. A similar example to your discussion was when I was looking for my eyeglasses and I cannot find it anywhere in the places I've been to inside the house including the place I've assigned for it. I am nearsighted and without it I can't see clearly distant objects. After futilely searching for it I requested all my children to help me find it. I wondered why they looked at me then laughed. It was then that they told me that my eyeglasses is just raised from my ear to the top of my head and i failed to notice it. I can't help but also laugh at this.

Some says that if we gone through a major operation, we are tend to be forgetful due to the effect of the anesthesia injected to us.Some of my friends and people I know who are been into major operation give proof of that.

I have experienced this before. I was looking for my hair clip and I really can't find it in my hair nor in my bag. I even asked my younger brother to look around because I might have fallen it somewhere in the house. My mom suddenly came and asked us what we were looking for and I said I can't find my hair clip. She just smiled and said, you are such a fool for not seeing things that is just within you. And she pointed in my shirt, there it was hanging, my clip! Lol, I forgot I clipped it there so I could easily reach it when I am going to fix my hair.

That used to happened with my ball pen.I am trying to look for it on my table or anywhere else, but actually it was just clipped in my shirt, then I will laugh by myself and shake my head.

Well, that really is the last place you would expect to find something that you thought you lost. If it was right in front of your face. I mean, that is the one blind spot for us. I guess many of us are rather farsighted, where we cannot see things in front of our face. That's happened a few times, whether it was someone I was helping or me personally.
The most embarrassing instance of this for me was trying to find a book that I had thought I had lost. I was freaking out over this. As it turned out, it was on the table right where I was sitting. It was about two feet away from my hands. That just proves that underneath your nose is the absolute worst place to put something, because you'll never be able to find it.

Yeah underneath our nose is the worst place to put something.Place wherein we didn't expected and tend to find.We are in state of panic that we might lost or misplace something but the fact that it is just there in front of us and waiting to notice.

This scene always happens to my boss and me. She would always be looking for something and when i go to her office to look for it, i found out that it's just there in her table.
Sometimes, we are like that too, because we sometimes become frantic when we look for things.

Hahaha! That's really funny! I also have some experiences almost the same as that. The worse part for me was that, I was actually holding it. lol. How stupid of me sometimes. For example, just last night, I was looking for my eye glasses since I was about to go up and organize my things. Twice I asked my mom where my eye glasses could be. But after a minute, I realized that I was actually holding it. Haha!
Some say those circumstances are already due to stress and too much thinking. Probably that's right. So tell your boss that maybe she needs some time to rest as well. :)

That would really be funny, you are already holding it.
It happened to me, but mine was my ball pen. That was really a busy day and so many things to attend too. Then a supplier came and I have to sign some papers, I was looking for a pen to use but actually I already holding my pen lol.We both laugh that time.

Oh yeah and my son makes fun of me for it too..Mostly it is my cup of coffee or my brace for my wrist and he usually is the one to see it is right there. So he teases me by taking his glasses, hat, or some other item and placing it on his head, or right in front of him and asks, "where's my_____?"

There is a phrase for it, something like finding it right in front of your nose. It happens to us all, mostly because our minds are preoccupied with other things as well, that it doesn't compute to us. Sometimes even we call for someone else to help and then go "oh wait a minute" because we find it right after calling out for their assistance.

Yeah, preoccupied with other things and busyness that we have, we are sometimes be so forgetful and don't notice things that are actually already in front of us.

Too funny! I have a similar incident. The company President I think was filling up his tax forms or something (I am the Finance Sup btw that time). He calls my local number and he asks for his TIN. I told him, "Sir, it's printed at the back of your ID." There's a pause at the end of the line and he was like, "Aaaaaahhhh, got it." LOL!
I also have some moments like that. One time I was looking for a print out of a report about the collection status and I ask one of my staff to retrieve it from my table (I was in a meeting then). Turns out that I am holding that report, lol! If your mind is in a lot of things at the same time, you tend to have this kind of episode once in a while. That, or I'm just trying to make an excuse that I am already getting old, hahaha!

Yeah sometimes the age always used as excuses lol.
My boos would always says, "oh you granny is really getting old", then she will laugh out loud and eventually I will start to laugh too.

you know when i read this i actually laugh and laugh then laugh again because we have really same experience. there are instances where in we even lose our patient looking for something then after we gave up we just found it near to us.
i am a nurse and during my shift i am looking for my pen to update all my charting (in the phil we use to chart in paper unlike other countries using computers) though there are many pens surrounds the table in fact i am rushing because i have a lot of patient i even open all the rooms op patient asking significant others and then only to find out after all the disturbing moments i made in my patient's room ... stupid.. it was just inside my pocket... i even waste my time... lol

In terms of ball pen,it used to happened to me.Finding it somewhere or on my table the fact that it was just in my pocket or inserted in my shirt, then eventually I would laugh alone. It usually happened to my boss and to her calculator. And we do laugh out loud every time it happened.
