I am so jealous
of my kitty.
He snores
, while I stare at the ceiling wide awake. It is like the moment I lay down to go to sleep I am suddenly wide awake. I get up not being able to stand not being able to sleep, and just lying there when there is so much I could be doing. I take to my computer. Maybe, I can bore myself into sleep by clicking ads. LOL! Yet as I gaze at my computer screen, I feel myself growing sleepy just like before. Perhaps, I will fall asleep on the couch next to the slumbering little kitten, who snores so sweetly.
The early dawning hours even after sleep alludes are tranquil, peaceful, and quiet. Why could not the world have fallen to a a dead silience a few hours ago. Yawning, it is morning though I am still sleepy. What should I do? Work online till I fall asleep on the couch? Go take a shower, and start the day? Go to bed? Mmmm, not sure what is best all option sound pretty good right now.
Seriously, anyone have any ideas on how to actually fall asleep when your headhits the pillow rather than toss and turn or stare at the ceiling?

Actually, even your body laying on the bed but your mind still doing hard work.
Cause you have so much to think.
Believe me, you won't get into a sleep.
If I feel like that, usually I will do this.
Open up my cellphone and login to Mylot while laying on the bed.
After couple minutes, sometime need an hour. I fall into a sleep without I notice.

Can I suggest you better change your lifestyle of eating habits. Please try to eat some oatmeal and cherries,so that you could get some melatonin in your diet. This would make and regulate your sleeping systems. Then, try to eat either Spinach, eggs,
and crabs,so that you could get the tryptophan, that helps your body convert this foods into melatonin to regulate your sleepiness. You could also try to add some mushroom, tuna, and nectarines to acquire the much needed niacin in your body,to help your pineal gland produce melatonin to sleep.the last food can give you vitamin B6 that helps your pineal gland produce again melatonin to regulate again
you sleeping habits.I wish I have help you in what I have thought could make you sleep.

berting, thank you that is good advice. I did not know that there was foods rich in melatonin. I did eat eggs last night for dinner. After a bout with anemia, I do try to eat more iron rich foods. Maybe, I'll have to whip up a batch of oatmeal raisin cookies. Yummy!

It is hard when you can't go to sleep, and one of the main problems is that the more you're thinking about going to sleep, the more you cannot do so. The best thing that you can do is to make sure that you have something to do if you cannot sleep. If you have a book then you could have a read of it, and then this should make you a little tired for the next time that you attempt to get some sleep. If you stay tossing and turning in your bed then you will probably never get the chance to get the sleep that you really need.

GemmaR, thank you that is good advice! Maybe a little basket next to the bed with a book, notepad, and pen.
Yes, I agree it is a vicious circle many times the more you try to fall asleep the harder it becomes to actually sleep because all you can think about is that you cannot sleep.

I have troubles sleeping sometimes. I read a few pages in a book. Next thing I remember is the alarm going off to get up. So try it, works for me here. Have a great week there.
