Long story short, I'm an college student and am several years older than my other peers. There's always this notion that younger people pick up lessons faster and greater than their seniors. It's a bit discouraging, because I'm planning to take up new subjects including a foreign language. So I'm wondering which among these sayings to you believe in: (1) "You are never too old to learn" or (2) "You can't teach an old dog new tricks"? Or do these two quotes refer to different scenarios?

Hi pheenkeesh! You know, you are the master of your soul. You can do whatever you want as long as you have the courage and perseverance to do it. Those sayings are only created based on the situation where it might be applicable. So those were not true to everybody. I just believe in the saying: "If you think you can, you can, if you think you can't you are right." Have a nice day!

I believe you are never too old to learn, I learn something new every day and always want to learn more. Plus.....I have two dogs that are 4 years old and I am still teaching them new tricks!

Hi, In my own opinion, I think it only depends in how serious and interested you are with how much you want to learn. Every person is different there are stuff that we learn quickly and there are stuff where we are slow. But if you will focus and be very attentive I guess the age wouldn't really matter.
